SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 224,557, dated February 17 1880.

Ihe bottle A, which is preferably cylindrical in form from bottoni to top, is made of glass or other suitable material. Upon the top of the bottle is a screw-thread, a, to which isfastened the cap or cover B. This cap is made of any proper material, and by means of a washer, b, fits tightly` upon `the bottle. Perforated studs or projections C C are made upon the upper and under side of the capB,A which is itself perforated to allow the passage of the liquid. y The rubber tubing DE is drawn over these studs, and so held securely in place, the piece D also embracing the end of the glass tube F within the bottle, while the piece E connects with the mouth-plate by means of the perforated stud G. i

By thus dividing the rubber tube and fitting, it upon the studs on both sides of the cap,`as shown, I secure a more easy method of adjustment, and can more easily and thorough-ly clean out the tube than if it were in one piece inserted in and drawn through a central aperture of the cap, and also avoid the stretching, and consequent liability of breakage or leakage, heretofore experienced.

The mouth-plate is made in two parts, one being a perforated disk, H, bearing the tubular studs G and I, and 'having a screw-thread, c, upon its periphery, and the other being a screw-cap, J, having a central aperture to receive the nipple K. The bulb of the nipple is rst inserted and drawn through this central aperture; then the cap J is screwed upon the disk H, thus forcing the stud I into the nipple and beyond the heador rim at the neck of they nipple, the several parts so engaging together that when in position the nipple is securely looked, and cannot be drawn or pulled Off. i

rIhis arrangement of the nipple and mouthpiece also permits thorough cleaning O f the parts, and possesses many obvious advantages. y

I claim, as a novel and useful invention and desire to secure by Letters Patent- The combination of the disk H, lhaving a screw-thread, o, and studs GI, with the screwcap J and nipple K, substantially as and for the purpose specified.
