A. ISKE'. Atomizer.
No. 240,421'. Patented April 19,1881.
N.PETER5 PHOTO-UYHQGRAFMER. WASHINGTON D c .NKY
UNITED STATESi PATENT OFFICE.
ANTHONY ISKE, OF LANCASTER, PENNSYLVANIA, ASSIGNOR TO ISRAEL L.
' LANDIS, OF SAME PLAGE.
ATOMIZER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 240,421, dated April 19, 1881. Application filed November 10, 188D. (Model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANTHONY ISKE, ot'Lancaster, in the county of Lancaster, and in the State of Pennsylvania, ha've invented certain 5 new and useful Improvements in Atomizers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, and to the letters of reference marked 1o thereon, making a part of this specification.
This invention relates to certain improvements in that class of atomizers in which the air-tube is extended down through the cork of the vessel containing the liquid to be atomized 15 and terminated in said vessel above the level of the liquid, so as to create a pressure of air above said liquid when the atomizer is being used to supply the spray-tube independently of the action of the jet of air by which the wazo ter is sprayed; and it has for its object to provide an improved construction or arrangement of the tubes, whereby they may be readily titted in a common circular aperture in the cork, asmorefullyhereinafterspecied. These 25 objects I attain by the device illustrated in the accompanying drawing, in which is represented a sectional view ofthe device entire.
The letter A indicates the air-tube, and B the water-tube orspray-tube. The vertical portions 3o of the two tubes are semi-cylindrical in crosssection, and are secured together with their hat sides adjoining, being permanently fastened by means of solder or in any other convenient manner. The tube A extends slightly above the tube B, and is provided with a horizontal 3 5 branch, which serves as a mouth-piece or for connection with any convenient air blast or supply.
The letter a indicates a small jet-aperture formed at'the rear ofthe horizontal branch of 4o the tube A, im mediately above the horizontal branch of the tube B, which is provided with a small aperture, b, through which the water to be sprayed escapes.
The letter C indicates a stopper or valve se- 4 5 cured in the horizontal branch of pipe B, by means of which the quantity of Water escaping through aperture b may be regulated.
The letter D indicates the cork of the bottle through which the cylindrical part of the com- 5o bined tubes A and B passes.
Having thus described my invention, what l claim, and desire to-secure by Letters Patent, is-
In combination with the pipe A, extending 55 above the end of pipe B, and provided with a horizontal branch and air-jet, the said pipe B, provided with aperture at its top and with a horizontal branch and valve or stopper therein, all arranged substantially as specified.v 6o
In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 26th day of October, 1880.
ANTHONY ISKE.
