It is an object of my invention to provide a highly ornate, simple and relatively inexpensive roll holding housing provided with eflicient means for quickly replacing a roll of tissue and having a meansfor readily and accurately severing a portion of the continuous web'by the mere with drawal and upward pulling of the same from the free end thereof.

A further object is the provision of a sanitary tissue roll holder and dispenser wherein through the cooperation of several of the elements thereof, a snubbing action is obtained when the free end of the continuous web is pulled out and drawn upwardly and torn,' thereby preventing the material. While l2 prefer to mould or castthe entire housing'integrally, it will of.course,-be understood that parts thereof such as the front side, rear walls on top may be separately formed and suitably connected, or joined.

More specifically, it is anobject to provide a sanitary dispenser of the type described having an ornate, compact housing preferably integrally moulded from plastic or other suitable material and covering the roll as well as constituting journal bearings for the roll carrying shaft and having an open bottom for facilitating manipulation and attachment of the roll as well as means for eificiently enabling a section or sheet of tinuous tissue web to be severed.

Still another object is the provision of an integrally constructed housing which particularly lends itself to commercial manufacture at low cost and which provides in such'integral form, a means for readily detaching a used roll and replacing the same, a simple means for support attachment to a vertical wall,- bearings for the trunnions of a roll carrying shaft and a hori-' zontal severing means for separating a section of the continuous web.

These and other objects and advantages of my invention will be more apparent from the following description made in connection with the acthe concompanying drawing, wherein like reference characters refer to the. same parts throughout the several views and in which:

What is claimed is:' t 1.
