2 Claims.
soiled and maybe easily washed and replaced in the boot.
The invention further consists in the several features hereinafter described and more particularly pointed out in the appended claims.
In the, drawings:
Fig. 1 is a side elevation view of a storm boot equipped with the lining embodying the invention, parts being broken away and parts being v shown in section;
Fig. 2 is a detailed vertical sectional view taken on the line 2-2 of Fig. 1;
Fig. 3 is a detailed horizontal sectional view taken on the line 3-3 of Fig. 1; l
Fig. 4 is a side elevation view of a boot lining embodying the invention.
Referring to the drawings, the numeral 6 designates aV storm or stadium boot. the lower shoe receiving portions of which are usually formed of rubber and the upper part 6 of which may be of rubber or leather, this boot usually having a lining I of fleece or fur permanently secured thereto and which on becoming soiled from dirt upon the wearers shoe causes the soiling of parts of the stocking or shoe upper that may come in contact with it, and such lining can only be cleaned with difficulty.
`To obviate dirt deposits from s uch lining, I
have provided a removable lining 8 which is preferably open at its bottom and is shaped to conform to the interior of the boot 5 and is removably secured therein by glove type fasteners 45 9 connecting its toe and heel portions to the toe and heel portions of the' shoe and whose upper portion I at the front is cut down to the top of the vamp Il of the boot to form a foot receiving opening and also provides a iiap portion I2 which may be folded over the wearers ankle and be secured by a glove Vtype fastener Il before the front opening Il in the boot is closed by the "zipper" type fastener l5. Where glove type fasteners are used. the socket portion I 8 of such fastener is secured to the boct.,either to the (Cl. SI-7.3)
2 lining 1 when the' boot is made or to the main part of the finished'boot structure, and the ball part l1 of the fastening is secured by stitching to the lining 8 which may be of woven textile fabric or other suitable flexible washable material.
The lower edge I8 of the lining is shirred so that it tends to curve inwardly at the bottom and thus be engaged by the outer edges of the 10 wearers shoe, so that the lining will protect any of the polished surfaces of a slipper or shoe and the stockings of the wearer.
I desire it` to be understood that this invention is not to be Hunted to any particular form or arrangement of parts except in so far as such limitations are included in the claims.
What I claim as my invention is:
'1. The combination with a storm overshoe having a sole portion and an overportion adapted to cover the foot and the lower portion of the leg and having in its interior at the toe and heel i portions thereof respectively one member of a readily disengageable fastening means, of a lining of flexible washable material extending only from the top portion of said overshoe to the sole portion and provided at its. heel and toe portions with the other cooperative member of said fastening means.
2. The combination with a storm overshoe having a sole portion and an over-portion adapted to cover the foot and the lower portion of the leg and having mounted therein at the toe and heel portions thereof respectively one member of a snap fastener, of a lining of flexible washable material extending only from the top portion of said overshoe to the sole portion and pr0- vided at its heel and toe portions respective with a snap fastener cooperating with said fastener of said overshoe to detachably secure said lining in said overshoe.
