2 Claims. (01; -354) The invention relates to improvements in sheet holders and has for its primary object the provision of a simple and eilicient sheet holder for mattresses which is of simple construction and highly eflicient in use.

Other objects will appear hereinafter.

The invention consists of the combinations and arrangements of parts hereinafter described and claimed.

The invention will be best understood by reference to the accompanying drawings forming a part of the specification and in which- Fig. 1 is a perspective view of the end portion of a mattress equipped with an arrangement embodying the invention;

Fig. 2, a perspective view of a mattress illustrating the sheet securing attachment in position of use;

Fig. 3, a perspective view of one corner of a mattress showing a corner of a secured sheet lifted to show the underlying parts;

Fig. 4, a plan view of a mattress cover constituting a part of the invention; and

Fig. 5, a plan view of a sheet cooperating with said mattress cover.

The embodiment of the invention illustrated in the drawings comprises a sheet securing attachment in the form of a cover Ill of a size and shape to fit over the top of a mattress II, and provided with end flaps I2 having lacing eyelets l3 closely placed in the corners thereof adapted and arranged to fold over the ends of the mattress, as shown in Fig. 2, said end flaps being, in use, secured in place by suitable lacings 9 passing through the eyelets I3. The cover member in is also provided with side flaps l4 having eyelets l5 arranged parallel with the marginal edge thereof foldable over the sides of the mattress and also secured in place by means of suitable lacings 9 passing through said eyelets The lacing 9, shown in Fig. 2, is inserted through the eyelets l3 and I 5, and secured therein by the knots 8. The lacing, as to position and arrangement, may be varied to conform to the size and shape of the mattress upon which the sheet holder is attached for use. Corner flaps l6 are also arranged as indicated to be folded under the end flaps l2 to further hold the side flaps M in place. The side flaps M are provided with slide fastening members I! as shown.

By this arrangement, a cover is provided for the mattress which is adjustable to various sizes of mattresses and may be readily secured thereto, or removed therefrom.

Cooperating with the cover I0 is a sheet l8 having side flaps" iilequipped at their edges with a slide fastening member adapted and arranged to cooperate with the fastening members I! for the purpose of detachably securing said sheet over the top of the mattress. holder is provided which will detachably hold a sheet on diiferent sizes of mattresses in a perfectly smooth relation thereto. The specific form and arrangement of parts is a simple and effective one for the purpose.

While I have illustrated and described the preferred form of construction for carrying the invention into effect, this is capable of variation and modification without departing from the spirit of the invention. I therefore do not wish to be limited to the precise details disclosed, but desire to avail myself of such variations and modifications as fall within the scope of the appended claims.

I claim:

1. The combination with a mattress of a sheet securing attachment in the form of a cover having a top portion completely enclosing the top of the mattress, side flaps extending from said top portion downwardly over the edges and onto the bottom of said mattress, a plurality of eyelet's arranged along the marginal edge of said side flaps, end flaps extending downwardly from said top portion overthe ends of said mattress onto the bottom thereof, a plurality of eyelets arranged adjacent the outer corners of said end flaps, lacings passing through said side and end flap eyelets for adjustably and removably supporting said cover on said mattress, slide fastening members arranged lengthwise of said side flaps in parallel relation and in close proximity to the meeting edge of said side flaps with the top portion, and a sheet having slide members at its side edges adapted and arrangedto detachably engage the slide fastening members on said cover, whereby said cover is adjustable for various size mattresses while holding and retaining said sheet in a taut manner on the mattress.

The combination with a mattress of a sheet securing attachment in the form of a cover having a top portion completely enclosing the top of the mattress, side flaps extending from said top portion downwardly over the edges and onto the bottom of said mattress, a plurality of eyelets arranged in longitudinal alignment along the marginal edge of said side flaps, end flaps extending downwardly from said top portion over the ends of said mattress onto the bottom thereof, a plurality of eyelets arranged adjacent the outer corners of said end flaps, lacings passing through said side and end flap eyelets; for adjustabiy and removably supporting said cover on said mattress, slide fastening members arranged lengthwise of said side flaps in parallel}v a sheet having slide members atiim side edges relation and in close proximity to the meeting 7.
