1 Claim.
This invention relates to new and useful improvements in overalls.
One object of my invention is to provide a safety pencil pocket which will serve to prevent loss of the pencil under all conditions.
Another object of my invention is to provide a rule pocket with a safety flap.
In the accompanying drawings, which are for illustrative purposes only and are therefore not drawn to scale:
Figure 1 is a front elevation of a pair of overalls, embodying my improvements.
Figure 2 is a back view.
Figure 3 is an enlarged detail vertical transverse section, taken on line 3--3 of Figure 2.
Figure 4 is a vertical transverse section, taken on line 5-5 of Figure 1.
Figure 5 is a horizontal section, taken on line 6 6 of Figure 1.
Referring to the drawings for a more particular description of my invention, and in which drawings like parts are designated by like reference characters throughout the several views, A designates a pair of my improved overalls, as a whole, consisting of the front portion l and back portion 2.
In carrying out my invention, the rule pocket 1, situated at the upper back portion of the right leg, as 8, of the overalls, is provided with a special ap 9, which extends over and somewhat below the outer wall or member, as l0, of the pocket, and serves to prevent the loss of the rule, regardless of the posture or position assumed by the wearer.
Another improvement resides in the safety pencil pocket I1, which prevents loss of the pencil 2 under any circumstances, and especially when bending over. The pocket I'l is in the nature of a secondary pocket, formed in the outer flap I8 of one of the main front pockets I9. The pocket l1 is composed of the inner and outer members 20 and 2| and the shorter intermediate flap or member 22, and the upper portions of the intermediate and outer members are provided with a pair of vertically spaced transverse eyes or slits 23 and 24, through which the pencil is inserted in the manner illustrated.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is: A pair of overalls having a safety pencil pocket at the front adapted to prevent loss of the pencil regardless of the position assumed by the wearer, said pencil pocket being open at the top and comprising inner, outer and intermediate members stitched together at their side and bottom edges, said outer and intermediate members having a pair of vertically spaced transverse eyes or slits in their upper portions below the top of the pocket and through which the pencil is threaded -in inserting same in position.
