This invention relates to electric heating pads wherein electric heating elements are enclosed by suitable panels of insulating material in envelops of cloth or other fabric, and in particular means for supporting a heating pad so that it may be held on a certain part of the body and readily adjusted from one position to another.

The purpose of this invention is to provide means for attaching a strap or a plurality of straps to an electric heating pad so that the wearer may move from one position to another and may sit in a chair or'walk around with the pad remaining in position.

Various devices have been provided for strapping heating pads in position upon a patient and whereas these are adapted for holding the pad in a predetermined position, it has beenfound desirable to provide means for holding the pad so that the wearer may readily shift the pad or turn it about a central axis in order to locate it exactly over a particular part of the body or increase the comfort thereof. With this thought in mind this invention includes means for attaching a pad to a part of the body wherein the pad is provided with a centrally positioned snap which forms a swivel connection with a strap or with several straps that may be secured around the body of the wearer and the straps may pass directly from the pad or may extend through loops at the edgesthereof to further facilitate holding the pad in position if, desired.

The object of this invention is, therefore, to provide supporting means for an electric heating pad which includes a swivel connection in the center of the pad whereby the pad may readily be turned to different positions.

Another object of the invention is to provide means for attaching an electric heating pad to supporting straps with a swivel connection in which the position of the pad may be reversed so that both sides of the pad may be used.

A further object of the invention is to provide an electric heating pad support having a swivel connection therein, which is of a simple and economical construction.

With these and other objects and advantages in view the invention consists of the new and novel combination, construction, and arrangement of parts as hereinafter more fully described, set forth in the claim appended hereto, and disclosed in the accompanying drawings forming,

part hereof, wherein:

Figure 1 is a view showing a front elevation of the electric heating pad with a neck and side straps, and with parts broken away.

Figure 2 is an elevational view of the pad with the straps removed and with a corner of the pad broken away.

Figure 3 shows an edge view of the pad with the straps removed.

(Cl. 219-46) vention includes a pad l0 having centrally disposed buttons I l and I2 on opposite sides thereof with the buttons connected through the pad by stitches I3, and with loops [4 and [5 at the sides and I6 and IT at the ends, and also with fasteners 18 and IS on one end by which the pad may be supported by a neck strap 20.

The ends of the strap 20 are provided with adjusting clasps 2i and 22 and fasteners 23 and 24 are carried by the ends which secure the strap in the fasteners l8 and [9.

The pad is provided with a main supporting strap 25 having a button hole 26 therein and fasteners 21 and 28 with adjusting clasps 29 and 30 at the ends. The strap 25 may be buttoned over either of the buttons I l or l2 and then passed through the loops at the sides or ends, or the strap may be passed directly around the body of a wearer wherein a swivel connection is provided so that it may be adjusted to substantially any position on the body. The shoulder strap may or may not be used as may be desired.

The pad may be provided with an electric cord 3| having a plug 32 at the end and a switch 33 pad may readily be held in substantially any position on any part of the body and with the buttons on both sides either side of the pad may be used. The pad may be made of any suitable material and the material may be of any color. The material may be plain or the surface thereof or the surfaces of the buttons may be covered with suitable designs or decorations.

It will be understood that modifications may be made in the design or arrangement of the parts without departing from the spirit of the invention.

What is claimed is:

In an electric heating pad, the combination, which comprises, a rectangular-shaped heating pad having loops on the sides and ends and strap holding fasteners on one end, centrally disposed buttons positioned on opposite sides of the pad, means securing the buttons to the pad, said securing means extending through the pad, and a strap with extending ends and having a button hole therein adapted to button over the buttons on the sides of the pad providing a swivel connection, said pad having an electric cord with a switch therein and having a plug at the end.
