This invention is an improvement in garm'ents, especially garments to be worn over ordinary dress and intended for use outdoors and in cold weather.

An important object of the invention is to provide a garment that is easily donned and. is preferably in one piece with sleeves and trousers having cuffs that closely encircle the wearers wrists and ankles, giving warmth and preventing entrance of snow and ice. The article is therefore well designed to insure the owners full comfort when snow is on the ground and skating, skiing and other outdoor sports of Winter can be enjoyed by everyone.

A further object is to provide a one-piece sport garment of cloth so out and assembled that the garment can be put on at once without obliging the owner to step into the trousers; and secured so that the arms, torso and legs are fully covered as soon as the fastening devices are operated to secure the edges of the garment together.

The advantages and merits of the invention are made clear in the following specification, showing one or more embodiments thereof. But this disclosure is explanatory only and changes in detail may be adopted within the meanings of the terms in which the claim is expressed.

Figure 1 shows a garment according to this invention with the parts in open position to enable it to be put on.

Figure 2 shows the garment with the parts in closed position.

The garment as presented in Figures 1 and 2 comprises a blouse or body I with sleeves 2. It has the usual neck opening and collar, the ends of the latter being separated by a short space at the front. Below the blouse are the trousers 3, which are permanently united to the body of the garment at the waist thereof.

From a point adjacent each end of the collar the garment is divided along two separate lines from the neck down to the lower extremities of each of the trouser legs 3. These two lines are indicated at 4; and along the two edges of each are rows of fasteners 5 operated in the usual way by a sliding member 6. Between the rows of fasteners is a strip 1 which extends from the junction of the trouser legs up to the collar.

To don this garment the members 6 are pulled down to open the section forming the upper and lower body portions of the blouse and each leg down through the lower end thereof. The owner then thrusts his arms into the sleeves 2. He then closes the trousers around his legs beginning at the lower extremities, connecting the edges by means of the fasteners 5 and the slide members 6. When the members 6 are about half way up the strip 1 is lifted and held up in front and the members are drawn up to the collar. The garment is now completely on the wearer, covering the whole person except head, hands and feet. It can be taken off by merely drawing the members 6 down again to open the garment at the front along the middle of the blouse and the legs.

In both embodiments of the invention the garment is cut from cloth which has openings for the sleeves at the top or upper end and the opposite end has the two extensions for forming the trouser legs and the elongated strip 1 between the extensions. In Figures 1 and 2 this strip is long enough to reach all the way to the upper end of the garment; while in the design shown in Figure 3 it reaches only to the middle, and the outer extremity thereof is overlapped by the two sides of the jacket. The garment is in one piece except for the sleeves and strips hearing the fastener elements.

This garment is put on and taken off in the same way as the one described above. It permits the blouse to be opened when desired without releasing any part of the strip [0.

Preferably, in the making of the garment shown in Figures 1 and 2 the fasteners are included by taking a cloth member having originally the form of a single fastener unit, but comprising a middle strip II and two side strips (2, each connected to the middle strip by fasteners 5 with slide 6. This fastener unit will be as long as the full garment. The middle strip II is cut down the center to make two forked ends or portions 13, each of which is as long as the trouser legs from the junction thereof to the lower extremities. The edges of the side strips l2 are then sewed to the opposite sides of the jacket I and each is further served to the leg down one divided edge at the side. The point M at the junction of the forked portions or ends l3 will now coincide with the crotch or junction of the legs 3 and the edges of the portions [3 are sewed to the other edge of the cloth of the leg 3. The garment is then complete and can be opened and closed at the front as above described.

The sleeves and legs have elastic sections 14 inset at the ends to form snugly fitting cuffs at the ends. The cuffs on the legs are saparated from the lines of fasteners 4 by narrow portions or widths of cloth l5 of which the garment is made. This construction makes the cuffs for the legs stronger, and the fasteners easier to manipulate.

The garment is simple and easy to manipulate and serves very well all the purposes of the invention.
