tion'i-proceedsv .theeinvention consists essentially of the construction and arrangement of parts as shown in the accompanying drawings in which:
Figure 1 is a perspective view of the invention in its collapsed position;
Figure 2 is a cross sectional View taken substantially in the plane of the line 2-2 in Figure 1;
Figure 3 is a cross sectional View, similar to that shown in Figure 2, but illustrating the basket in its erected position;

What wwill Joeshereinaftere refenredi-vto as: the lower longitudinal bar or rod 46 extends between the pivoted connections of the legs 20, 22 in the two end members l6, l8, being secured in position by the aforementioned pivot pins 24 which extend axially into the end portions of the bar 48, as is best shown in Figure 5. Similarly, each of a pair of upper longitudinal bars or rods 48, 50 connects together the upper end portions of the side pieces 30, 32 at one side of the frame l2, being secured in position by suitable nails, or the like,- 52, as is best shown in Figures 4 and 6.
It will be apparent from the foregoing that the construction of the frame i2 is such that when the bars 48, 50 are drawn together as shown in Figures 1 and 2, the frame is collapsed and adapted to rest on the lateral edges 28 of the legs 22. However, when the bars 48, 50 are sep- 56 arated as shown in Figures 3 and 4, the entire 3 frame is erected and adapted to rest on the lower ends 26 of the legs.
The construction of the bag or receptacle M will now be described, this consisting of suitable flexible material such as cloth, fabric, or the like, and consisting of a sheet 54 of a substantially U-shaped cross sectional configuration provided at its ends with suitable panels 56 which are secured thereto by stitching or the like,'as indicated at 58 in Figure 1.
The upper edges of the bag portion 54 are provided with hems 60 to accommodate the afore I4 is suspended, so to speak, from these two bars,
substantially as shown. It is to be noted thatthe side pieces 30, 32 as well as the struts 3 I 36 are disposed within the bag ",only the legs prising spaced end members each including a pair of crossed and pivotally connected legs, a pair or upwardly extending side pieces pivoted to said legs, and a pair of struts pivotally connected together and rigidly secured to said side pieces, and longitudinal bars connecting together the legs and side pieces of the end members.
2. A sewing basket comprising a collapsible frame consistingof a pair of spacedparallel end members each includingfa' pair of crossed and pivotally connected legs, a pair of upwardly ext tending side pieces each pivoted to one of said mentioned bars 48, 50, whereby the entire bag 8 legs, and a pair of struts pivotally connected togeth'er and each rigidly secured to an interme- 20, 22 being visible, so that the entire-basket assumes a pleasing external configurationl Itis to be also noted that the end panels 56 of the bag [I areattached at the upper, corners thereof, to
thie side pieces 30, Why the aforementioned nails, or'thelike 52, thesenalls also serving to attach the'ends of a pair ofhandles 62 64 to the frame i2; substantially as shown. These handles not only facilitate convenientpcarrying ofth'ebasket when folded as shown in Figure l, but by simply pulling the handles 62,154, awayv from'each other, the bars 48; 50 will be separated and the frame i2 erected as has been already described while at the same time, the bag l4 will be opened as shown in Figure 3, On the other hand, by simply pressing the bars, 50 together, the bag M will be closed andthe frame l2 collapsed, as shown in Figure 2.
Suitable loops B6 are provided on the bottom,
adjacent the ends of the bag [4, these loops pass: ing'under and around the lower bar 46, so that when the frame I2 is erected, the bar 46 by virtue of the loops 66 will automaticallydraw the bag I '4 downwardly,'to its fully open or expandedpost' Itis' believed; that the advantages and use of the invention will be clearly understood ir om' the foregoing disclosure and acccrdiri'gly, further de scription thereof at this point deemed unneces-"f sa'ry." While in the foregoing there has been shown and described the preferred embodiment of this invention it is to be understood that minor changes in the details of construction, combina tion and arrangement 'of parts may be resorted te'without departing from the spirit and scop of the invention as claimed. v "Having described the invention, a is claimed as new is:
In a sewing basket,[a collapsible r .diate portion of one of said side pieces, longitudinal bars connecting together the le s and side -"-pieces of the two end members, and a foldable bag suspendedv from the longitudinal bars connecting said side pieces.
The device as defined in claim 2 wherein said side pieces and said struts are disposed in said bag.
4. Av sewing basket'comprising a collapsible frame consisting 'of a pair of spaced parallel end members each including a pair of crossed and pivotally connected together at one end and each rigidly secured at its remaining end to an intermediate portion of one of said side pieces, a lower longitudinal bar extending between the pivoted connections of the legs in the two end members, a' pair of upper longitudinal bars each securing together upper end portions of side pieces at one sideof said frame, and'a foldable bag suspended from said upper longitudinal bars.
' 5. The device as defined in claim 4 wherein said upper longitudinal bars are movable toward and away frcmeach'other, and said legs are respec-' tively collapsed and uprighted by said movements of the upper longitudinal bars. I
6; The device as defined in claim 4 wherein said side pieces, said struts and said upper longitudinal bars are disposed in said bag, together with keeper loops provided at the bottom of said bag, said keeper loops engaging said lower longitudinal bar.
