Ball bearings 98 and 160 are provided to reduce the friction that might otherwise be occasioned by the large area of contact of the hinge structure.
The entire unit may be disassembled readily for packing and shipping by separating the upper and lower portions at joints $3 and 10,
removing the four adjusting screws to separate the frame members 28 and 38 from the supporting members 40 and i2, and removing the frame member 38 from the table 6 by sliding it through the hinge structures 34 and 36.
From the foregoing it will be observed that the combination baby swing and seat-tabla assembly embodying my invention is well adapted to attain the ends and objects hereinbefore set forth and to be economically manufactured, since the separate parts are well suited to production methods and are subject to a variety of modifications as may be desirable in adapting the invention to different applications.
As many possible embodiments may be made of the above invention and as many changes might be made in the embodiment set forth, it is to be understood that all matter hereinbefore set forth or shown in the accompanying drawings is to be interpreted as illustrative and not in a limited sense.
I claim:
1. A multiple function baby seat adapted to be readily converted from a chair swing to a relatively stationary chair and table assembly, comprising: a lower frame portion; an upper frame portion supported by said lower frame portion; a table portion having a central opening therein and pivotally secured to said lower frame portion and adjustable to occupy either a horizontal or vertical position; a seat; and flexible supporting means connecting said seat to said upper frame portion, said seat fitting in the central opening of said table portion and being supported by said table portion when said table portion is in a horizontal position for use as a stationary seat-table combination and being supported by said flexible supporting means when said table is in a vertical position.
2. In a combination baby swing and table, in combination, a frame structure, a seat, flexible means supporting said seat from said frame structure under a first condition of operation, and a table portion supported by said frame structure and movable into supportin elationship with respect to said seat under a second condition of operation.
3. In a combination baby swing and table, in combination, a frame structure, a'seat, flexible means connecting said seat to said frame structure, and a table portion pivotally connected to said frame structure, said table being movable about said pivotal connection into and out of supporting relationship with respect to said seat, said table portion having an opening therein in which said seat is positioned when said table portion is in supporting position.
4. In a combination baby swing and table, in combination, a frame structure including upper and lower portions, a seat, flexible means connecting said seat to the upper portion of said frame structure, a table member connected to said frame structure, said table member being movable into and out of supporting relationship with respect to said seat, said seat being supported by said flexible means when said table member is out of supporting position.
5. In a combination baby swing and table, in combination, a frame structure including a pair of horizontal supporting portions and an upper supporting portion positioned above the horizontal supporting portions of said frame structure, a seat, flexible supporting means for connecting said seat to said upper supporting portion, a table member, means pivotally connecting said table member to one of said horizontal supporting portions, said table being movable about said pivotal connection between horizontal and vertical positions, and means to connect said table member to the other horizontal supporting portion of said framework when said table is in a horizontal position, said table supporting said seat when it is in a horizontal position, said seat being supported by said flexible supporting means when said table is in a vertical position.
6. In a combination baby swing and table, in combination, a framework including an upper portion and a pair of side portions, the upper portion of said framework being U-shaped, the side portions of said framework including a pair of horizontal portions spaced from the bottom of said framework, a seat, flexible means connecting said seat to the upper portion of said framework, a table member, means pivotally connecting one edge of said table member to one of the horizontal portions of said framework, detachable connecting means connecting the other edge of said table member to the other of said horizontal portions, said table being capable of being pivoted on said pivotal connection between horizontal and vertical positions, said table member when in a horizontal position supporting said seat, said flexible means supporting said seat when said table member is in a vertical position.
