This invention relates to combination vibrator and vacuum massage device, and more particularly to the combination of a vibrating mechanism with means in combination therewith for creating a suction during the vibrating treatment and through the same device used for the vibratmg.

The invention is designed to apply suction through the massaging device, so that when it is applied to the scalp and the hair, for example, dandrui will be drawn off with other matter which may be stirred up during the massaging.

Another object of the invention is to provide a vibrator device to which various massaging, brushing and treating devices can be attached and interchanged as may be necessary and convenient for the best service.

Another object of the invention is to provide a simple and practical body which can be attached to the vibrator mechanism, to be vibrated therewith, and to which various massaging, brushing and other treating members or devices can be detachably connected, and which can be connected with a source of suction or with a blower, whereby suction can be set up through said body and the treating members or devices connected therewith, or whereby a blower treatment can be put through said body, as when it is desired to dry the hair or other parts of the body.

Other objects and advantages of the invention will be apparent from the following more detailed description of .one practical embodiment thereof, taken with the accompanying sheet of drawings, in which Figure 1 is a side elevation of a vibrator of known make, with a combination vacuum body and massaging device connected therewith, ready for use, with parts in section to show the interior arrangement;

Figure 2 is a bottom plan view thereof;

Figures 3 and 4 are side views, partly in section, of two devices to be connected with the body member on the vibrator;

Figure 5 is a side elevation of a complete combination vibrator and vacuum connecting member connected therewith as a part thereof;

Figure 6 is a sectional detail on line 6 6 of Fig. 5.

Referring now in detail to the drawings, a known make of vibrator, designated l, is shown in Fig. 1, with a vacuum body member 8 attached thereto, as at the attaching screw 9, said body having an elbow outlet at I0, threaded to receive a massaging device, designated Il, as clearly shown, such massaging devices, where vacuum is used in connection therewith, having around the working face, a exible flange l2, to engage with the face, body or scalp to make the vacuum action more effective.

In Figure 3 is a brush, designated I3, which can be connected with the body member 8, in place of the massaging device I I, for use in brushing the hair and at the same time applying the suction thereto.

In Fig. 4 is another form of massaging device, of the flexible cup form, designated I4.

It will be noted that all of the various devices for attachment to the vibrating member, are open in their centers for the suction to be applied during the vibratory treatment.

The electric cord to said vibrator is designated I5, and the regular switch is designated I6. The hose, designated Il, may come from a portable vacuum cleaner, or such other source of suction, or air under pressure for blowing purposes, in the well-known manner. Referring to Fig. 5, I have shown a special embodiment of the invention in a complete, self-contained unit, in which is embodied the vibrator mechanism, and the connection for the vacuum action is made as a part thereof. The body of this embodiment of the invention is designated i8, with the wire connection I9 for the vibrator therein, With a switch 26. An upstanding rib or lug portion 2l has a hole 22 therein, by means of which the device can be hung upon a hook, if desired. Secured to the under side of said body is a tubular member 23, of rectangular form in cross section, except at its outer end 211, which is provided with a connection 25 for the hose 26, as shown. The other end of said member is provided with the elbow connection 2l, to which the various massaging and body treating members can be connected, as before described. Said tubular member is shown secured by means of a screw bolt Z8, although this could be made integral with the body, if desired.

Thus I have provided an improved combination of body vibrator and suction for the effective treating of the human body, and particularly the scalp and hair, where, in addition to massaging the head and the scalp, suction can be applied for carrying olf dandruff and other loose matter which may be worked out by the massaging and vibrating action.

I do not, however, limit the invention to the details of construction and arrangement shown for explanatory purposes, except as I may be limited by a fair interpretation of the hereto through from said tubular member to which it appended claim. is secured.
