To all whom it'may concern:

Be it known that I, GEORGE E. Kuur, residing at the cit",v ot' Washington, in the Distriet of Columbia, have invented a "Weather-I Proof Cover for Padlocks, ot' which the following' is a speeilieation.

My invention is a weatherproof cover for padloclis, or 'all of that class'ot' locks which implies a staple, with orwiihout a hasp, and embraces the following` peculiar features: a

Y cap or openshell hinging to a metai plate so slotted as to fit over a staple, either separately or behind aliasp,orwhen fastened on its iront,

all of which are hereinafter more fully de-4 scribed, and illustrated by the accompanying drawings, forming part oftliis specification, ot' which` l Figure l represents a l'ront view of the cover,sho\ving its cap closed over the padlock, but with its top broken out to exhibit the slotted plate, with its attachments to the hasp underneath, Fig. 2, a longitudinal cross section of my device; and Fig. 3, a front view ot' the saine, showingtlie cap raised and the slot4 ted plate placed behind the basp, which isa horizontal one instead ofthe perpendieula!` form shown in Figs. l and 2.

by any` suitable means to the front 'ot' the hasp, when a perpendicular one is in use, for the 4o convenience of lifting both hasp and plate together when the padlock is removed, as, should the liasp be lifted with the said plate unattaehed, the plate would fall away. Ot' course, when a hasp is not used at all, the slotted plate B can be placed over the staple, and the padlock will, Whenever also 55 fastened upon it, always keep the said weath er-proof cover in useful position.
