This invention relates to improvements in garbage can racks.

An object of the invention is to provide an improved portable garbage can rack which will be so constructed that the same may be driven sciaims. (cien- 71)v into the ground to rotatabl and removably support one or more disposal garbage cans.

Another object of the invention is to provide an improved rotatably supported garba-ge can rack including a vertically extending fixed pipe standard having a bearing formed adjacent its lower end, and asleeve mounted for rotation thereon having wedge-shaped mounting brackets secured to its opposite Sidesadapted to be engaged by complementary wedge-shaped supporting brackets on the supported garbage cans, together with arcuate members on said cans disposed below said brackets and adapted to contact the curved outer surface of said sleeve to brace the garbage cans when supported thereon.

Another object of the invention is to provide an improved garbage can rack which will -be highly eificient in operation and relatively inexpensive to manufacture and produce.

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the improved garbage can rack with a pair of oppositely disposed garbage cans supported thereon;

Figure 5 is a front elevation of one of the attaching brackets adapted to be secured to the side of a garbage can;

Fig-ure 7 is a secticnal view taken on the line 1- 1 of Figure 1.

Like characters of reference are used throughout the following specification and the accompanying drawings to designate corresponding parts.

In carrying out the invention, there is provided an improved garbage can rack having a vertically extending tubular pipe standard I having an annular bearing ring 2 formed about its upper end,

andanenlarged'ground-engaging bracing disk 3 formed about its lower end having its corners bent downwardly as at 30. The 'bottom end of the standard l is pointed as at 4 to permit the same to be readily driven into the ground until the bracing disk 3 contacts the surface of the ground 5 and -thedepending corners 3B thereof are embedded in the ground. Anchoring pins 6 are positioned `transversely through the lower enfd of the standard l to additionally support the same in the ground. A receptacle 3| will be secured to the pipe standard l slightly above the disk 3' to receive a liquid insecticide for preventing ants and other crawling bugs cr insects from reaching the garbage pails.

The sleeve 6' upon which the garbage cans 1 are supported is adapted to snugly but rotatably fit over the upper end of the standard l with its lower end bearing on the bearing 2 on said standard I.

A handle 8 is secured to the upper end of the sleeve 5' for rotating the same.

A pair of Oppositely disposed downwardly tapered wedge-shaped mounting brackets 9 and lfl are suitably secured on the central portion of the sleeve 6', and are adapted to be engaged by suitable complementary supporting brackets |5 on the garbage cans 1.

In Figure 5 of the drawings there is ill-ustrated the supporting bracket IS carried by a Vertical body or attaching strip ll that is apertured at |2 and |3 to receive securing rivets |4 for attaching the same to a garbage can 1. The bracket |5 is formed with the inwardly directed arcuate ears- |6 and l'l whose opposite inner surfaces are downwardly and outwardly tapered to lock over the correspondingly tapered bracket 9 on the sleeve 6'.

An arcuate member l8 is secured at the lower end of the body H by means of the rivet |9 and when the garbage can 1 is in position on the sleeve 6', said arcuate member IB will engage the outer surface of the sleeve 6' to positively lock and support the garbage can in position.

While the preferred embodiment of the instant invention has been illustrated and described, it will be understood that it is not intended to limit the scope of the invention thereto, as many minor changes in detail of construction may be resorted to without departure from the spirit of the invention.

Having thus described my invention what I claim as new and desire to secure by Letters Patent of the United States is:

1. In a receptaclo supporting rack, a Vertical 3 standard, an elongated sleeve rotatably mounted on the standard, a bracket secured to the sleeve. a complementary bracket adapted to be seoured to a receptacle and releasably engaslng said sleeve bracket, and an arcuate member in spaced Vertical relation below the brackets and partialiy embracng and frictionally engaging said sleeve. said arcuate member being adapted to be secured to the ,reeptacle.

4. In a reeeptacle rack,`-a zverticalstandard-an elongated sleeve rotatably mounted oni-the standard, a mounting bracket'secured-to thesleeve, an attaching strip adapted to be secured ;to a receptacle, a con'lplementar-y` bracket 'secured Vto the strip and releasably 'engaging the -first mentioned bracket, an arcuat membersecured to the 4 r strip and partially embracing and bearing against the sleeve at a position below the first mentioned bracket.

5. In combination, a Vertical standard, an elongated sleeve rotatably mounted on the standard. a pair of mounted brackets secured at diametrically opposed positions to the sleeve, a pair of receptacles each having a bracket secured thereto tiifl-lijZ pmplementary to one of the brackets on the'sleeveiand detachably'engaging the same, each of said receptacles also having an arcuate member secured thereto that partially embraces and bears against the sleeve at a position below therstmentioned brackets, said arcuate members engflaging diametrically opposed positions of the sleeve,
