This invention relates to garment construction and more particularly to a garment construction including a removable lining member capable of serving as a separate garment.

2. Garment construction according to claim 1 in which the second series of reversible symmetrical teeth is adapted to be placed in doubled position and in such position to be intermeshed byv the reversible slide member to form fastening mechanism for the lining when employed alone as a garment. a

Garment construction according to claim 2 in which the shell includes a member extending inwardly from the edges of the shell overlying the' fastening mechanism, the fastening mechanism extending around the periphery of the garment between the member and the shell and being concealed from view.

In garment construction, the combination of a shell, fastening means adapted to secure the edges of the garment together to close the same, a removable lining placed within theshell, fastening mechanism securing the lining tothe shell,-the portion of the fastening mechanism secured to the shell including a tape, a series of symmetrical teeth mounted on the tape, a pin at one end of the series and a stop at the ppo-' site end of the series, the portion of the fastening mechanism secured to the lining including a second tape, a second series of reversible sym-v metrical teeth mounted on the second tape, a second pin at one end of the second series, a socketmember at the opposite end of the second 4 series, and. a reversible slide member adapted to intermesh the teeth of the second series with the teeth of the first series to secure the lining to the shell, said second series of teeth being adapted to be placed indoubled position when the lining is separated from the shell and in such position to be intermeshed by the reversible slide member to form fastening mechanism for the lining' when employed alone as a garment.

Garment construction according to claim 5 in. which a collaris provided attached to the removable lining adjacent the neck portion thereof, said collarbeing adapted to extend upward. over the neck portion when the removable liningis employed as a second garment to close the teeth: extending about the neck portion.

In a removable lining for a garment, a body portion adaptedto fit about a wearer, and a slide fastener to close the lining, the fastener comprising a single series of reversible, symmetrical teeth, a pin at one end of the series; a socket member at the opposite end of the series, and a reversible slide member, the series being doubled to place teeth in proximity to each other, the slide serving to intermesh the teeth of the-series to interlock them with one another.
