1 Claim. 01. 211-60) This invention relates to a holder for toilet; articles, and more particularly to a holder for safety razors, razor blades, andshaving cream.

A'primary object of this invention is the provision of an improved relatively compact holder of this character which may be readily secured to a wall orjthe like, or shelves such as a bathroom cabinet, and which will support in compact readily accessible position the articles employed in shaving.

Another object of this invention is the provision of a device of this character which may be integrally stamped out as a unit from a. single strip of metal.

Still another object of the invention is the provision of a device of this character which is simple and inexpensive to construct, and which may be sold at a relatively low cost.

Still other objects will in part be obvious, and in part be pointed out as the description of the invention proceeds, and disclosed in the accompanying drawings wherein there is shown a preferred embodiment of this inventive concept.

Having reference now to the drawings in detail, the holder of the instant invention is generally indicated at 10 and comprises a substantially unitary sheet of metal, which includes a main back portion 11, from which is folded a top portion 12. The top portion is provided with a forwardly extending tongue and is folded upwardly as at 13, and thence rearwardly as at 14, to provide a friction clamp for connecting over an end of shelving, such as a shelf located in a medicine cabinet.

Any suitablemeans may be provided for attaching the device, but preferably take the form of a suction cup 35 which is secured by means of a bolt 36 and nut 37 extended through a suitable aperture in the rear wall 11 of the device.

From the foregoing it will now be seen that there is herein provided an improved safety razor holder which accomplishes all the objects of this invention, and others, including many advantages of great practical utility and commercial importance.

A second embodiment of this invention is illustrated in Figures 5 to 9, inclusive, wherein this modification is formed of a unitary sheet of metal and is identified, in general, by the reference numeral 50.

The article holder 50 comprises a main body portion 51 which is centrally stamped and bent adjacent its upper end (reference being to Figure 8) to form a bridge 52 which extends laterally to one of its sides, and from which depends a front wall 53, spaced from and substantially parallel to the main body portion 51. The front wall 53 terminates in a lateral flange 54 having its free end notched inwardly at 55 to communicate with a centrally positioned aperture 56. The ends of the fingers 57 are overlapped at 58 to form friction pads.

Integrally formed, spaced and substantially parallel ls-ide members 59 project laterally from the bridge 52 to form the lower jaw members of a clamp, then upwardly to form a pair of spacers 60, and finally reversely to comprise a pair of upper jaw members 61, spaced from and substantially parallel to the lower jaw members 59. The ends of the jaw members are integrally connected by the cross-member 62.

The lower and upper jaw members 59, 61 are each provided with aligned openings 63 and 64, respectively, to serve a function to be described.

Centrally of its sides the lower end of the main body portion 51 is punched or stamped to provide a second flange 65 spaced below and substantially parallel to the flange 54. The free end of the flange 65 is formed with a notch 66 forming fingers 67 at each side thereof, the notch 66 communicating with a centrally disposed aperture 68. The outer ends of the fingers 67 are upwardly bent to form a pair of keepers 69.

The end extensions 70 at each side of the flange 65 are curved laterally toward the other side of the main body portion 51 and then reversely curved to provide a pair of open loops 71.

If desired, a conventional suction cup 72 may be secured to the main body portion 51 by the bolt 73 and nut 74 whereby thearticle holder 50 may be secured to a vertical surface, or optionally the holder may be pended from the side of a shelf, such as are located in medicine cabinets, the opposite sides of the shelf being gripped between the clamping jaws 59 and 61.

The loops 71 re-' ceivethe normally closed end of a tube of toothpaste or shaving cream therein, as shown in Figure 8.

If a 'morepermanen't installation is desired, the 'openin'gs 63-and 64 formed in the .jaws '59 and '61 may be used to receive "bolts or screws to suspend the holder 50 from a shelf.

Havin described and illustrated two embodiments of this invention in detail, it will be understood that the same are offered only by way of illustration, and that the invention is to be limited only by the scope of the following elaim.

What is claimed is:

In 'a'dev-ice of the class described a generally rec'tangw lar upright fiat body, said body having its lower free end portion bent back upon itself in a semi-cylindrical form with the edge of the free end portion closely adjacent said body forming a narrow transverse slot between said free edge and said body, a bifurcated member struck from said body adjacent said free end portion and bent to extend perpendicularly forwardly therefrom, and an integral portion bent to extend perpendicularly forwardly from the upper edge of said body and then bent upwardly I and rearwardly to form a shelf engaging clamp fixed to said body.
