(Cl. 248103) The present invention generally relates to a device for holding a baby bottle and more particularly a device in the form of a stand or bracket which is adjustable and which includes means for gripping a baby bottle for positioning the baby bottle in the optimum position for feeding an infant from the bottle.

An object of the present invention is to provide a baby bottle holder incorporating a suction cup attaching means together with a substantially L-shaped wire member attached thereto in an adjustable manner together with model gripping means adjustably mounted on the Wire member for grippingly receiving the base portion of a bottle and maintaining the bottle in a horizontal or downwardly inclined position whereby the bottle is positioned in a manner for reception of the nipple on the bottle in the mouth of an infant.

Other objects of the present invention will reside in its simplicity of construction, adaptation for its particular purposes, its relatively inexpensive manufacturing cost as well as its ease of adjustment and assembly.

These together with other objects and advantages which will become subsequently apparent reside in the details of construction and operation as more fully hereinafter described and claimed, reference being had to the accompanying drawing forming a part hereof, wherein like numerals refer to like parts throughout, and in which:

Figure 1 is a perspective view of the baby bottle holder of the present invention holding a bottle with a portion of the baby bottle gripping member being broken away showing the construction thereof;

Figure 2 is a detailed sectional view through the suction cup base of the holder illustrating the structure thereof and the relationship of the L-shaped rwire member thereto; and

Figure 3 is a partial rear perspective view showing the manner in which the baby bottle gripping member is attached to the upstanding portion of the L-shaped wire member.

Referring now specifically to the drawings, the numeral generally designates the baby bottle holder of the present invention which includes a suction cup 1'2 having an upstanding shoulder or stud 14 integral therewith together with a projection 16 disposed eccentrically on the upper surface thereof for facilitating the release of the suction cup 12 from the supporting surface 18. A metal or similar insert 20 is disposed in the suction cup 12 for receiving a screw threaded clamp screw 22 which extends inwardly from the top of the stud 14. The screw 22 extends through a clamp member 24 and also through a 'washer 26.

Supported from the suction cup 12 is an L-shaped wire member generally designated by the numeral 28 and including two parallel base wires 30 joined together at their outer ends by a curved portion 32. The parallel base wire portions 30 are slidably received in upwardly curved edge portions 34 of the clamp member 24 whereby the base of the L-shaped member 28 may be moved longitudinally in relationship to the suction cup 12 and also may pivot about a vertical axis formed by the clamp screw 22.

The upstanding portion of the L-shaped wire member '28 is also provided with two parallel wire members 36 forming continuations of the wire members 30 with the outerends of the wire members36 being connected by a curved portion 38 and the portion adjacent the juncture of the wire members 36 and 30 being interconnected by a cross member 40.

Slidably secured to the vertical portion of the L-shaped wire member 28 is a baby bottle gripping means generally designated by the numeral 42 which includes a spiral wire 44 which is covered with plastics or similar material 46 which will prevent scratching and breakage of the baby bottle 48. The base end or end of the gripping member 42 adjacent the vertical wires 36 terminates with the inner end of the inner spiral extending diametrically across the loops of the spiral as designated by the numeral 50 with this transverse portion extending behind the vertical wires 36 and the adjacent loop or spiral eX- tending in front of the members 36 whereby the gripping member 42 will be detachably and slidably engaged with the vertical wires 36.

In use, the baby bottle 46 having the nipple 52 thereon is positioned in the gripping member 42 and by twisting the spiral wire 44 slightly to unwind the same, the size of the gripping member 42 may be enlarged for permitting ease of insertion of the bottle 48, whereby the bottle'48 will be effectively gripped and retained in position with the transverse member 50 forming an effective means for attaching the gripping means 42 to the L-shaped wire member 28 and for retaining the gripping means 42 in vertically adjusted position. Thus, the device provides a baby bottle holder in which the baby bottle may be substantially universally adjustable inasmuch as the suction cup may be supported on a horizontal or vertical supporting surface and the gripping means 42 may be disposed on the same side as the vertical wires 36 as the wires 30 or may extend in opposite relation thereto thereby providing a versatile baby bottle holder adaptable for use in various orientations.

The foregoing is considered as illustrative only of the principles of the invention. Further, since numerous modifications and changes will readily occur to those skilled in the art, it is not desired to limit the invention to the exact construction and operation shown and described, and accordingly, all suitable modifications and equivalents may be resorted to, falling within the scope of the invention as claimed.

What is claimed as new is as follows:

1. A baby bottle holder comprising an elongated supporting member constituting a pair of parallel wire members, a laterally extending baby bottle gripping means mounted on said supporting member, said gripping means including a spiral resilient wire having the inner convolution thereof terminating in a transverse terminal end with the transverse terminal end disposed on one side of said parallel wire members with the adjacent convolution of the spiral wire disposed against the other side of the parallel wire members thereby frictionally mounting the gripping means in longitudinally adjusted position onsaid supporting member.

A baby bottle holder comprising a vacuum cup adapted to be mounted on a smooth supporting surface, an L-shaped support member, said L-shaped support memher having each leg thereof formed by a pair of spaced parallel wire members, means adjustably connecting one leg of said supporting member to said vacuum cup for sliding and rotatable adjustment, and baby bottle gripping means adjustably mounted on the other leg of said supporting member, said baby bottle gripping means including a spiral resilient wire member of constant cross-sectional dimension throughout its length and having an open outer end for receiving the bottom of a baby bottle and the inner end provided with a transverse terminal end on the inner convolution of the spiral Wire member, said transverse terminal end and the inner convolution engaging opposite sides of the parallel wires for frictionally retaining the baby bottle gripping means on the other leg of the supporting member and in longitudinally adjusted position.
