1 Claim. (Cl. 248-29) The present invention relates to a device for attaching articles to a support, and has for its principal object to provide at a low price a device whereby an article can be attached simply to a wall, a pillar, a fixture, furniture, or the like.
The principal object of the present invention is to provide an economically producible device for attaching articles to .a support and which can be used for retaining a variety of articles.
Further and other objects and features of the present invention will be made clear from the following explanation of the embodiments shown on the accompanying drawings, wherein:
FIG. 1 is a plan view of the present invention,
FIG. 2 is an enlarged sectional view of the same taken along the line IIlI in FIG. .1,
"FIGS. 3 to 5 are perspective views showing various ways of using the same.
Referring now more particularly to the drawings there is shown a base member 1 which comprises a film of a flexible synthetic resin such as vinyl, nylon, vinylon, polyethylene or others. The back surface of said base member is coated with a cohesive or adhesive agent 2, and the adhesive surface is applied with an easily removable separator 3 such as paper coated with a parting agent or cellophane. An article holder member 4 made of the same material as the base member 1 is attached to the base member 1. This article holder member 4 comprises a synthetic resin film and is fixed directly by means of a high-frequency welder to the base member 1 along a longitudinal line 5. The article holder member 4, that is, the synthetic resin film is coated at its front surface with a cohesive or adhesive agent 6, and the adhesive surface is applied, in almost the same manner as in the base of the base member 1, with an easily removable separator 7 such as paper coated with a parting agent or cellophane.
This type of article attaching device has a very wide range of use, and can be used for attaching an electric wire or a cable to a support, hanging a bill or a poster, as
3,128,072 Patented Apr. 7, 1964 a substitute for a drawing pin, as a hinge for attaching an aileron or a vertical rudder of a model aeroplane, or otherwise.
In FIG. 3 is shown one example of the use of the present device for attaching an electric wire or a cable 8 to a wall 9. In this case, the base member 1 from which the separator 3 has been removed is stuck on the wall 9 and then the electric wire or the cable 8 is fixed by means of the article holder member 4 from which has been removed the separator 7, being wrapped therearound. By using the present device, an electric wire or a cable can be wired very simply.
As -will be easily seen from the above description, a rope or the like instead of an electric wire can be attached in almost the same way, thus providing another example of use of this device.
FIGS. 4 and 5 show further uses thereof as in the cases 'where a poster or a bill -10 or the like is attached to a ceiling wall or a side wall or the like. FIG. 4 shows the attachment to a side wall and BIG. 5 the attachment to a ceiling wall. In these cases, the base member 1 is affixed to the wall '9 in the same manner as in the above case and then the article holder member 4 is folded in two so that the poster or the bill 10 or the like is held therebetween for being secured. The poster or the bill 10 can then be seen on one side surface in the case of FIG. 4 but can be seen on both side surfaces in the case of FIG. 5.
What I claim is:
An article attaching device comprising a base sheet of a pliable synthetic resin, a coating of an adhesive on one face of said base sheet for adhering to a supporting surface, a holding sheet of a flexible synthetic resin having one face fixedly connected solely along a line at the medial portion thereof to the other tam of said base sheet and the remaining portions of said holding sheet being free, and a coating of an adhesive on the other face of said holding sheet for engaging and adhering to the article to be attached.
