(Cl. 4-146) This invention relates to shower baths having receptors or stall floors that are heated for eliminating a cold and clammy feeling due to unheated floors. An object of the present invention is to provide a shower bath with a heated receptor in which the receptor is heated by a specially disposed heating coil through which heated water passes from the center to the periphery.
la the present invention it is contemplated to provide a simple arrangement of piping in the stall floor which includes a coil of a spiral shape of several turns through which heated water may pass from the center to the periphery so that as a bather stands on the floor. the receptor is heated for eliminating a cold and clammy feeling that may be present.
In the present invention. the water which is dispensed from the shower head is connected to be passed through the spiral arrangement disposed in the shower floor. The invention takes advantage of the law of physics in which heat rises and cold air is caused to go downward.
The above and other objects and advantages of the in vention will become apparent upon full consideration of the following detailed description and accompanying drawing in which:
The figure shows a perspective view of a portion of a shower stall having the water pass from the valves or taps through a spiral configuration of pipes from the center to the periphery before the water is dispensed from the shower head.
Referring now to the drawing, there is shown a shower stall having walls 10, 10 and a floor in which there is disposed a spiral coil 1 of copper pipe which is mounted one-half inch below the top surface of the reccptor'2.
From a cold water supply pipe 4 and from a hot water supply pipe 3, the water is adapted to pass through valves 5 and 6, respectively, when they are opened so that the water may be able to pass through the connecting pipe 7 which terminates in the spiral coil 1. From the peripheral terminals of the spiral coil 1, the pipe is connected through a coupling or connecting pipe 8 which terminates in a shower head 9. The valves 5 and 6 turn the water on so that the water passes through the pipes 7. l and 8 and the head 9. and the water is collected in the receptacle 2, and thence is drawn off down the drain ll.
It has been found that the invention provides a device and apparatus that is safe, clean. healthy, time saving, economical, substantially troublc-free. and economically capable of being built for all conventional shower baths.
Additional embodiments of the invention in this specification will occur to others and therefore it is intended that the scope of the invention be limited only by the appended claims and not by the embodiment described I hereinabove. Accordingly, reference should be made to the following claims in determining the full scope of the invention.
I claim:
' 1. A shower bath floor heating arrangetncnt comprising a shower stall having side walls. a floor and drain receptor disposed and connected at the bottom of said side walls, a spray head mounted front one of said walls. a valve arrangement mounted below the spray head on an adjacent wall. and a pipe connection between said spray head and said valve arrangement including a spiral coil of copper pipe inserted within the floor in parallel arrangement thereto substantially one-half inch below the floor, so that the floor is heated when heated water passes outwardly from the center of the coil through the spiral coil of copper pipe.
2. The invention according to claim 1 wherein the drain receptor is disposed centrally of said floor, and wherein said spiral coil of copper pipe is disposed about said drain receptor.

Claims (1)

1. A SHOWER BATH FLOOR HEATING ARRANGEMENT COMPRISING A SHOWER STALL HAVING SIDE WALLS, A FLOOR AND DRAIN RECEPTOR DISPOSED AND CONNECTED AT THE BOTTOM OF SAID SIDE WALLS, A SPRAY HEAD MOUNTED FROM ONE OF SAID WALLS, A VALVE ARRANGEMENT MOUNTED BELOW THE SPRAY HEAD ON AN ADJACENT WALL, AND A PIPE CONNECTION BETWEEN SAID SPRAY HEAD AND SAID VALVE ARRANGEMENT INCLUDING A SPIRAL COIL OF COPPER PIPE INSERTED WITHIN THE FLOOR IN PARALLEL ARRANGEMENT THERETO SUBSTANTIALLY ONE-HALF INCH BELOW THE FLOOR, SO THAT THE FLOOR IS HEATED WHEN HEATED WATER PASSES OUTWARDLY FROM THE CENTER OF THE COIL THROUGH THE SPIRAL COIL OF COPPER PIPE.
