Specification forming part of Letters Patent N0. 33,75 l dated November 19, 1861.

Be it known that I, L. H. OLMs'rED, of Binghamton, in the county of Broome and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Improvement in Oilers; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, making a part of this specification, in which- Figure l is a side elevation with a portion of the can and tube broken away. Fig. 2 is a plan of the same.
Similar letters of reference indicate corresponding parts in the two figures.
In this improvement the oil-receptacle is made semi-spherioal in form, so t-hat it may be stamped, cast, or otherwise made in one piece, without any seam, and all liability to leakage thereby be prevented. The spherical form also tends to cause the oiler to maintain and assume a vertical position at all times when not in use. The cover of the oil-holder is flexible, so that by pressure upon it the oil may be expelled. The upper end of the oiltube is provided with a conducting-wire to lead back into the oiler any oil that may adhere to the exterior of the tube after use.
To enable those skilled in the art to fully understand my invention, I will proceed to describe its construction and operation.
A represents the body of the oiler of semispherical form, which can be made of malleable iron, brass, copper, or gutta-percha.
B represents the elastic top, which may be made of metal or any suitable material, fastend at its eXtreme outer edge to the semirspherical body by brazing, soldering, or oth- Having thus described my invention, I claim and desire to secure by Letters Patent as an improved article of manufacture y An oiler made with a semi-spherical bottoni without seam, a fiexible cover, and a conduCting-Wire attached to the extremity of the tube, all as herein shown and described.
