Cl. 15160 1 Claim ABSTRACT OF THE DISCLOSURE A brush for cleaning corners including a brush body in the form of a disk having bristles of nylon or other appropriate bristle material embedded therein and extending from one side in conical shape or tapering to a central point at the axis of the disk, and with a handle threaded in the center and at right angles to the disk on the opposite side from the bristles, the conical shape facilitating the use of the brush in corners and other places difiicult to reach.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION Field of the invention The invention is in the art of brushing, scrubbing or cleaning, regardless of whether by hand or machine, but is particularly concerned with a brush that can be readily held in the hand and used by the housewife.

Description of the prior art SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION AND OBJECTS The invention is a corner brush including a brush body in the form of a disk with a manipulating hand extending from one face and with bristles on the other side of the disk tapering to a point at the axis of the disk, or in other words, with the bristles increasing in length from the circumference to the center of the disk and forming a point, enabling the brush to be readily inserted into corners and other usually inaccessible crevices which it is desired to clean.

It is an object of the invention to provide a simple, inexpensive, corner brush including a brush body in the form of a disk with nylon or other appropriate bristles extending from one face of the disk, the bristles being graduated in length from the shortest bristles at the circumference to the longest bristles at the center or axis of the disk, and with a manipulating handle extending from the opposite side which can be readily used by a houeswife in the cleaning of corners regardless of location, and other inaccessible places.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT The brush of the present invention includes a disk 10 of a diameter to provide a body of sufficient strength and durability to support an adequate number of bristles 11 to serve the purpose intended and to enable the desired cleaning operations to be performed in a minimum of time. The bristles 11 are mounted in openings 12 in the "ice disk 10 and may be of nylon or other desired material. They extend from the brush side 13 to a point 14 in the axis 15 of the disk 10. The bristles are graduated from bristles 16 at the perimeter of the disk to the longest bristles 17 at the center. A handle 18 of a length to enable the brush to be applied at a distance of about three feet by the user is provided and has threads 19 at one end which engage complementary threads 20 in the disk 10. The handle 18 of the brush is preferably provided with a knob 21 at its opposite end. The taper is less than in order that the bristles may readily reach into a corner with the handle held at approximately 45 from flat surfaces 22, 23 and 24 which meet in a corner 25.

It will be apparent that by inserting the tip of the brush in the corner 25, the brush rotated or not as desired, the corner can be cleaned regardless of whether it be between the floor and the wall, the wall and the ceiling, between shelving and a wall, drawers or other locations difficult to clean. The brush also may be used for cleaning the edges of carpet, adjacent to baseboards, and for cleaning louvres, shutters, window sills and frames, light fixtures, and under kitchen and bathroom cabinets with only sufficient room for a persons toe to be inserted. The brush also is good for cleaning the base of bathroom bowls, under the lid of commodes where connected to the seat, as well as for numerous other cleaning operations. It is even suitable for cleaning lawn mowers where refuse gathers after use.

It will be apparent also that the corner brush of the present invention is particularly suitable for easy contact and thorough cleaning of anything hard to reach, for example, around service stations, for cleaning crevices of any kind such as between cushions, behind accelerator pedals and would make it possible to remove dust and dirt not previously removable. The brush is suitable for housewives to use in homes, and can be used in grocery and other stores, hospitals, hotels, by telephone repairmen and others.

What is claimed is:

1. The combination of a brush including a disk and a relatively long handle having one end attachably and removably axially threaded into the center and at right angles to said disk and having a rounded opposite end to facilitate holding and rotation of the brush during use, said brush comprising a relatively thin flat brush bodyforming disk having openings distributed over and perpendicular to one face for receiving bristles therein, relatively stiff bristles secured in said openings and graduated in length from the longest bristles at the center of a length at least substantially equal to the diameter of the disk to the shortest bristles at the perimeter of the disk, with the taper of the bristles at the tip less than 90, and the brush and handle being of a size and length that when the handle is held in the hands of an operator the brush may be inserted in a corner formed by three Walls of a room, including at the ceiling, on the fioor, at an intermediate location or elsewhere.
