'Inmwgmg iimmm SCRAPER-SIFIER DEVICE An object of the present invention is to providea scrapersifter device for quick attachment to the bucket of a front end loader which device may be moved through a mixture of dirt and rubble so that the dirt may be sifted out from the rubble and troweled to a level smooth even condition and the rubble dumped into a truck with the necessity of removing the front end loader bucket.
Another object of the present invention is the provision of a scraper sifter as described above which may also be employed with a conventional tractor for smoothing and leveling a site where-demolition of a building or the like has taken place leaving a comixture of dirt and rubble to leave the dirt and facilitate removal of the rubble from localized areas.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a front end loader bucket having the device of the present invention installed thereon.
FIG. 2 is a view similar to FIG. 1 taken at an enlarged scale.
FIG. 3 is a perspective view of the front end loader bucket containing the device of the present invention being discharged into a truck.
FIG. 4 is a perspective view similar to H6. 3 upon completion of discharge of rubble into a truck.
FIG. 5 is a perspective view of the scraper-Sifter device of the present invention being drafted by a tractor.
FIG. 6 is a perspective view of the scraper-sifter drafted by tractor with the device in the conventional or dumped position.
Referring now to FIG. 1, l0 designates a front end loader having a bucket 11 connected in the conventional manner to a dipstick or the like 12. The scraper-Sifter device has a concavo-convex backing trowel member 13. Extending forwardly of the member 1315 a front scraper blade 14 spaced from member 13 by a screen section 15 formed by spaced bars 15A defining slottedlike openings 15B therebetween. Support braces 14A are welded to'the blade and trowel member to make a rigid integral unit.
The sidewalls 11A are provided with key hole slots 118 at their front lower positions to receive therethrough links of attaching chains 16 at one end thereof while the other ends of chains 16 are attached by bolts 17 to eyes 18 which are secured to blade 14. :The bottom rearwall 11C of bucket 11 has welded thereon attaching eye plates MD, to which are connected rear chains 19 at one end thereof while the other ends of chains 19 are secured to the device by a clevis 20 and bolt 21.
The device is installed-onthe bucket as'shown in FIGS. 1 and 2. The front end loader is driven forwardly so that the leading edge of'the scraper blade 14 is wedged beneath a mixture of rubble 'and'dirt, the rubble being either broken bricks and chunks of concrete. As the dirt and rubble build up the dirt sifts through the slots 15B falling back upon the ground where it is troweled or leveled by the trowel member 13 to leave a smoothed surface. When a sufiicient amount of rubble has accumulated on the blade 14 and screen section 15 the bucket 11 with the device thereon is elevated'to the sequented discharge positions of FIGS. 3 and 4 where the rubble is dumped into the truck body 22 and hauled away.
Referring to FIGS. 5 and 6 the scraper-sifter device is shown attached for draft by a tractor 22 having the usual implement draft device 23 at the rear thereof. The device is connected to the draft unit 23 by chains 24 by clevises 25. After the device has been drawn by the tractor 22, as shown in FIG. 5, when sufficient rubble has been collected the device is dumped as shown in FIG. 6, the earth or dirt having passed through openings 15A and the. rubble having been retained as shown. The rubble is then scooped up by the bucket 11 of a front end loader and carried away by the track or the like.
Iclaim:
1. For use with a front end loader having a loading bucket with key slot openings at the base of the front end of its sidewalls, a ground-leveling and separating device comprising,
a substantially flat main blade having a slotted rear portion a concave-convex blade backing trowel member secured to the rear of the slotted portion of the main blade with the concavity thereof directed rearwardly of the main blade, attaching means one end of which is adapted to be connected to the rear of the front end loader bucket and the other end connected to the rear of said device, and attaching means connected proximate the forward end of the device at one of its ends and adapted to be connected at its other end through the keyhole slot in the front end loader bucket.
