Abstract

A container for cosmetics, means for applying the cosmetics, and means for aiding in the application of the cosmetics, comprises three tubular parts releasably interconnectable one with another. The hollow interior of each part may be divided into a plurality of compartments for receiving different cosmetics. An eyelash stretcher extends outwardly from the end of one part and extends into the hollow interior of the immediately adjacent part and a brush extends outwardly from the opposite end of said immediately adjacent part and extends into the hollow interior of the third part.

Lobato [57] ABSTRACT A container for cosmetics, means for applying the cosmetics, and means for aiding in the application of the cosmetics, comprises three tubular parts releasably interconnectable one with another. The hollow interior of each part may be divided into a plurality of compartments for receiving different cosmetics. An eyelash stretcher extends outwardly from the end of one part and extends into the hollow interior of the immediately adjacent part and a brush extends outwardly from the opposite end of said immediately adjacent'part and extends into the hollow interior of the third part.

1 Claim, 2 Drawing Figures COSMETICS CONTAINER BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION AIM OF THE INVENTION An object of the present invention is the provision of a container for cosmetics, means for applying the cosmetics, and means such as mirrors for aiding in the application of the cosmetics, which is of an attractive appearance, small enough to be carried in a handbag or pocket and yet capable of containing a wide variety of cosmetics and ancillary means.

A further object of the invention is the provision of a container for cosmetics and ancillary equipment which comprises a plurality of parts, each of which parts serves two or more functions.

According to the present invention, a container for cosmetics, means for applying the cosmetics and means such as mirrors for aiding in the application of the cosmetics, comprises at least two parts releasably secured together, each part having a hollow interior for receiving said cosmetics, means for applying the cosmetics, and means for aiding in the application of the cosmetics.

Preferably, at least one part is divided into seperate compartments.

Advantageously, each part is tubular, an externally threaded boss at one end of one part engaging within an internally threaded recess at one end of the second part, a brush for applying cosmetics being attached to said one end of the one part and extending into the hollow interior of the second part.

DESCRIPTION OF A PREFERED EMBODIMENT As shown, a container for cosmetics, means for applying the cosmetics and means for aiding in the application of the cosmetics, comprises three hollow

tubular parts

1, 2, 3. Part 1 has an externally threaded boss 12 at one end, which boss 12 releasably engages within an internally threaded recess at one end of part 2. At the opposite end of part 2, an externally threaded boss (not numbered) releasably engages within an internally threaded recess at one end of part 3. The opposite end of part 3 is closed. A cover 4 is pivotally mounted to the opposite end of part 1 to seal the interior of part 1.

The interior of part 1 is divided into a plurality of separate longitudinally extending compartments 5 to 11, each of which compartments contains a cosmetic, means for applying the cosmetic or means for aiding in the application of the cosmetic. For example, the central compartment 5 contains a mirror 17 and the remaining compartments contain cosmetic pencils or eyeshadow sticks. An eyelash stretcher 13 is attached to the boss 12 of part 1, which eyelash stretcher 13, as shown, extends into the interior of part 2.

The free end face of boss 12 is recessed, the base of which recess acts as a plug for the part 2.

The part 2 has a brush 15 attached to its boss, which brush 15 extends outwardly from the boss into the interior of part 3 into an outer compartment 16. The free end of the boss is recessed and acts as a plug for an inner compartment 14 of the part 3 whlch compartment 14 contains lquid or powder cosmetic.

In use, on unscrewing the part 3 the brush 15 is available, the

1 and 2 being effective as a handle for the brush 15. On unscrewing the parts 2 and 3 together from part 1, the part 1 will act as a handle for the eyelash stretcher 13. On opening the cover 4, the implements contained within the several compartments 5 to 11 will be readily available.

1, 2, 3 will be closed and protected.

The part 1 can be provided with one or more longitudinally extending slits corresponding to the positions of selected compartments 5 to 11 so as to permit means contained by the selected compartments 5 to 11, such as hand-mirrors, cosmetic pencils and the like, to be extracted from the compartments by means of pushers having projections, extending outwardly of the compartments through the slits. The closed end of the part 3 is provided also substantially plane or concave, as shown by dash-dot lines in the drawing, so as to allow for a bearing of said element.

What is claimed is:

l. A container for cosmetics, comprising a first container member having an opening at one end thereof, a brush and a product-to spread by said brush disposed within said first container member; a second container member having an opening at one end thereof, an eyelash stretcher implement and a mascara liquid disposed within said second container, said brush being attached to the other end of said second member, wherein said second member provides a handle for said brush, and said other end of said second member being releasably connected to said one end of said first member, wherein said other end of second member provides a plug for said first container opening; a third container member having an opening in one end and having partitions therein, cosmetic pencils, and a mirror disposed within said third container, said eyelash stretcher implement being attached to the other end of said third member, wherein said third member provides a handle for said implement, and said other end of said third member being releasably connected to said one end of said second member, wherein said other end of said third member provides a plug for said second container opening.

Claims

1. A container for cosmetics, comprising a first container member having an opening at one end thereof, a brush and a product to spread by said brush disposed within said first container member; a second container member having an opening at one end thereof, an eyelash stretcher implement and a mascara liquid disposed within said second container, said brush being attached to the other end of said second member, wherein said second member provides a handle for said brush, and said other end of said second member being releasably connected to said one end of said first member, wherein said other end of second member provides a plug for said first container opening; a third container member having an opening in one end and having partitions therein, cosmetic pencils, and a mirror disposed within said third container, said eyelash stretcher implement being attached to the other end of said third member, wherein said third member provides a handle for said implement, and said other end of said third member being releasably connected to said one end of said second member, wherein said other end of said third member provides a plug for said second container opening.
