INVENTOR M 8g j BY M M A) True NEY AN US BLOCKING DEVICE This invention relates to an anus blocking device consisting of a rubber-ball-like soft air-inflated ball inserted in the rectum in the sphincter ani mainly of an ox, horse, sheep, pig or other such animals for temporarily stopping its natural evacuation of the bowels.
Milking cows often contaminate the milk by defecation during the milking operation, and the chief objective of the present invention is to stop the animals defecation only for'a fixed period of the operation for preventing such contamination. As far as the inventor knows, no means of directly stopping the anus like the blocking device of this invention has yet been used.
In the accompanying drawing;
FIG. 1 is a front view of a ball according to this invention showing how it is used.
FIG. 2 is a cross-sectional view of the ball.
FIG. 3 is an enlarged cross-sectional view of the air inlet of the ball.
The device of the invention for blocking the anus of an animal or man consists of a soft air-inflated ball 1, a soft rubber protrusion 2 formed on the inside surface of said ball 1, a stopper 4 provided on one end of said protrusion 2 and a string 3 connected to said stopper 4. In the drawings, 5 shows an air needle inserted in the protrusion 2 for injecting or discharging the air into or from the ball, 6 the rectum and 7 the sphincter ani, respectively.
The rubber-ball-like air-inflated ball according to this invention is first inserted in the anus as slightly inflated with air and then fully inflated by injecting air into it through the air needle 5. As this ball is highly elastic, it does not hurt the anus when it stops defecation by blocking the anus. The string 3, fastened at its end to the tail hair of the animal by means of a clip, serves to prevent the ball from going deeper into the anus.
When the feces accumulate in the rectum, the rectum expands of itself to drop them. Therefore, it is effective enough to prevent defecation no matter how much amount of feces accumulate in the rectum if only the anus is blocked. The blocking device of the present invention is inserted in the anus and inflated by the injection of air'for temporarily stopping defecation while a cow is being milked or transported. After the milking operation or transportation of the cow is finished, the ball is deflated by discharging the air and pulled out of the anus for evacuating the bowels so that all accumulated feces drop at the same time.
As the protrusion 2 in which the air needle 5 is to be inserted is provided on the inside surface of the ball, the protrusion 2 is not in the least obstructive for the service of the device. Also the protrusion 2 made of soft rubber shuts its hole immediately after the air needle is pulled out and there is no fear of the leakage of air. The device of this invention has an excellent effect for the sanitary handling of animals because it can freely control their defecation as stated above.
The ball may be prepared in various different sizes to suit the rectum of each kind of animal or man. As the device of this invention provides for easy and sure prevention of defecation by the above-mentioned way, it has a wide range of application including the sanitary handling of livestock. Furthermore, it can be used for preventing the untimely defecation of human bodies.
What is claimed is:
1. An anus blocking device comprising a soft hollow rubber ball having only one opening, said ball being air inflatable and capable of insertion, when deflated, into an anus and blocking said anus when inflated, a soft rubber protrusion positioned on the inside of said ball over said ball opening and having an opening in communication with said ball opening, a stopper inside said ball capable of closing said protrusion opening and an elongated flexible tension element connected to said stopper and extending through said ball opening and said protrusion opening whereby a pull on said flexible element will position said stopper for closing said protrusion opening.
2. An anus blocking device as claimed in claim 1 including a needle detachably extending through said ball protrusion means for supplying air under pressure to inflate said ball.
Claims (2)
