Abstract

A game device for playing various games such as which employ dice being thrown so to determine the extent of a play or move, the device comprising an open vessel into which dice may be thrown during a play, the open vessel being of any shape, and in one particular design being readily collapsible for convenient storage. The vessel comprises a shell having a flat bottom, an upwardly extending encircling side wall and a flange extending outwardly from the side wall. A recess is provided in the flange for each die. Chalk is provided for keeping score.

The vessel comprises a shell having a flat bottom, an upwardly extending encircling side wall and a flangeextending outwardly from the side wall. A recess is provided in the flange for each die. Chalk is provided for keeping score.

2 Claims, 6 Drawing Figures DICE GAME This invention relates generally to game devices.

A principal object of the present invention is to provide a new game called Seventy Minus One which gives diversion and enjoyment to all players.

Another object is to provide a Seventy Minus One game which can be played by as meany as eight players in a competitive game.

Another object is to provide a Seventy Minus One game which can be played by all persons from ages 8 to- 90.

Yet another object is to provide a Seventy Minus One game which utilizes three dice and a chalk in playing the game.

Still another object is to provide a Seventy Minus One game which additionally can employ an open vessel into which the dice may be tossed in attaining a score for, determining an amount of a move or play.

Other objects are to provide a Seventy Minus One game which is simple in design, inexpensive to manufacture, rugged in construction, easy to use and efficient in operation.

These and other objects will be readily evident upon a study of the following specification and the accompanying drawing wherein: I

FIG. 1 is a plan view of one form of the invention vessel.

FIG. 2 is a cross sectional view on line 2-2 of FIG.

FIG. 3 is a plan view of a modified design of the invention wherein the vessel is collapsible for convenient storage.

FIG. 4 is a cross sectional view on line 4-4 of FIG.

FIG. 5 shows the vessel in collapsed position.

FIG. 6 is a plan view of another modified design of the invention vessel.

Referring now to the drawing in detail, and more particularly, at this time, to FIGS. 1 and 2, the reference numeral 10 represents a Seventy Minus One game according to the present invention wherein there is a vessel 11 which may be used with the above game. The vessel is of generally ovaloid configuration being more pointed at one end. It comprises a shell of any desirable material and includes a-flat bottom wall 12, a concave side wall 13 which at its upper end has a radially outward flange 14 provided with three square shaped depressions 15 within which dice 16 may be stored.

In FIGS. 3, 4 and 5, a modifleddesign of vessel 16 is shown which is comprised of radial sections 17 placed one upon another and secured pivotably free together at a lower end by a singular flat head rivet 18, so that the parts may be fanned out from the position shown in FIG. 5 to the position shown in FIG. 3 so to form a collapsible vessel 16. Depressions 15 are all contained on a lowermost of the sections so to permit collapsing.

In FIG. 6, another vessel 19 is shown of octagonal shape, suggesting that the vessel may be of any other shape as well. 7

The game of Seventy Minus One is played with the following rules in the following manner.

Up to eight persons may play. Three dice and a piece of chalk are required. I

Start the game with 15 chalk lines or points for each player written on the top side of a circle. The dice face up, 6-5-4 equal 69 points. Highest in number value equal to rub out 3 points or 3 chalk lines. Other numbers are:

1 points 6 60 points 5 5 points 4 4 points 3 3 points 2 2 points for an example:

100 and 65. 123 100 and 5.

THE EQUAL NUMBERS ARE CALLED: ZAZOU.

With the normal numbers you add up the points. The highest amount of points value equal a rub out of 1 point or 1 chalk line. The numbers are the highest. For example:

2X'l +6=260=1 point 2 X 1 +4=204= 1 point 2X 1 +2=202= 1 point Also there is a betting privilege. If a player wishes to bet, he has to bet before he throws the dice, and rub out one point or line.

You are allowed three throws, or unless the 1st. player wishes to stop after one or two throws, according to his descision. In case the better plays less, he has to add double the points of the players throw for example:

The player throws 6-5-4 69 3 points or lines, the player can bet and rub out three points, in case he is the last player, nobody else equals him, he rubs out three more points 6 points. The winner starts the game again.

In any case, anybody ties his amount of points he may automatically also rub out 3 points and both challenge each other (call out challenge).

Each one has the right to one throw of dice. The winner rubs out three more points. The loser adds 6 points.

The betting proceeds similarly with even numbers called ZAZOU which equals 2 points, the loser adds 4 points. The highest in numbers I point. The loser adds 2 points. Any player can bet; i.e., the first player, second player or ;third player, etc.

The winner of the game is two out of three, or four out of five games.

While various changes may be made in the detail construction, it is to be understood that such changes will be within the spirit and scope of the present invention.

I claim:

I. A game comprising: three dice; a writing instrument; and a dice receiving receptable, said receptacle comprising a shell having a flat bottom, an upwardly extending encircling side wall, and a flange extending outwardly from said side wall, there being a plurality of recesses in said flange, at least equal to the number of dice, sized and shaped to receive said dice for storage therein.

A game according to claim I wherein said shell comprises a plurality of interengaging radial sections, each section being pivotally secured at its lower end to a common rivet, whereby said sections may be collapsed to overlie one another for storage and extended to their open position to formacup-like shell, said recesses being formed in the flange of the lowermost of said sections when in their collapsed condition.

Claims

1. A game comprising: three dice; a writing instrument; and a dice receiving receptable, said receptacle comprising a shell having a flat bottom, an upwardly extending encircling side wall, and a flange extending outwardly from said side wall, there being a plurality of recesses in said flange, at least equal to the number of dice, sized and shaped to receive said dice for storage therein.

2. A game according to claim 1 wherein said shell comprises a plurality of interengaging radial sections, each section being pivotally secured at its lower end to a common rivet, whereby said sections may be collapsed to overlie one another for storage and extended to their open position to form a cup-like shell, said recesses being formed in the flange of the lowermost of said sections when in their collapsed condition.
