BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION Accordingly, it is an important object of the present invention to provide a cover device for a wall-mounted toilet accessory which is extremely simple to mount, is neat and attractive to present a highly appealing ornamental or aesthetic effect, can be quickly and easily re- The cover device includes a mounting part or frame, generally designated 15, which may have a central opening 16 bounded by a laterally extending upper frame member 17, a pair of side frame members 18 depending from opposite ends of the upper frame member, and a lower frame member 19 extending laterally between the lower ends of the side frame members.

The generally rectangular, centrally open frame may advantageously be integrally fabricated of plastic, but may be suitably formed of other material, if desired. Further, the side frame members 18 may each be provided, on their laterally outer surfaces with a recess, as at 20, which recesses face oppositely outwardly away from each other. More specifically, the recesses may each be of elongate configuration, defining a vertically extending groove having its lower end opening through the lower frame member 19, and its upper end opening through the upper frame member 17. The upper frame member 17 may also be formed with a recess 21, which 0 extends longitudinally along and defines an upwardly moved and replaced either for replacement of toilet tissue or varying the bathroom decor, as desired, and which can be economically manufactured for mass production and sale at a reasonable price.

It is still another object of the present invention to provide a cover device having the advantageous characteristics mentioned in the preceding paragraph, which is extremely simple in construction, durable and reliable throughout a long useful life, and capable of preventing many varied ornamental appearances.

Other objects of the present invention will become apparent upon reading the following specification and referring to the accompanyingdrawings, whichforma material part of this disclosure.

The invention accordingly consists in the features of construction, combinations of elements, and arrangements of parts, which will be exemplified in the construction hereinafter described, andof which'the scope will be indicated by the appended claims.

DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENTS Referring now more particularly to the drawings, and specifically to FIGS. 1 and 2 thereof, a cover device of the present invention is there generally designated 10, and shown in FIG. 1 as mounted on a wall 11, say of a bathroom. In FIG. 3 there is shown a toilet paper dispenser 12 of the recessed-type mounted in the bathroom wall 11, so that a toilet paper roll 13 is partially recessed into the wall, the remainder of the roll projecting from the wall.

In practice, the mounting part or frame 15 is fixed by suitable means in facing engagement with the bath? room wall 11 extending about the bathroom accessory or toilet tissue roll 13. Affixation of the frame 15 may be conveniently accomplished by the provision of adhesive 23 on the rear surfaces of the frame members 17, 18 and 19, as for securement by adhesion to the wall surface 11, best seen in FIG. 3. The mounting frame 15 may be further provided with a plurality of through holes, say holes 24 at the corners of the frame, for receiving fasteners to mount the frame in its facing engagement with the bathroom wall 11 extending about the bathroom accessory 12. ' A cover per se is generally designated 25 and is-removably retained in position on the frame or mounting part 15 in covering relation with respect to the bathroom accessory 13. In particular, the cover 25 may include a generally rectangular cover top wall 26 extending along and resting on the upper frame member 17, and projecting forwardly therefrom beyond the toilet accessory 13. The cover top wall 26 may be formed with a rib or projection 27 depending from its rearward edge into engagement in the upper frame member recess 21.

Depending from opposite sides of the top wall 26, along respective frame side members 18, are a pair of cover side walls 28. The side walls 28 each depend along, and generally coextensive with a respective frame side member 18, and extend forwardly therefrom beyond the toilet accessory 13. The rearward edge of each side wall 28 is formed with an in-turned lip, rib or projection, as at 29 each slidably engaged in a respective side member recess or groove 20. In addition, a cover front wall 30 depends from the forward region of the cover top wall 26 and extends laterally between the forward regions of cover side walls 28 so as to cover the forward side of the toilet accessory 13. It will therefore be apparent that the toilet accessory 13 is effectively and attractively concealed from view, while access thereto is readily afforded through the open underside of the cover 25. I

Advantageously,the cover 25 is of sectional construction, the cover top wall 26 including a rearward tion 34 and forward section 35, the rearward side wall sections depending fixedly from opposite sides of the rearward top wall section 31, and the forward side wall sections 35 depending fixedly from opposite sides of the forward top wall section 32.

It will therefore be appreciated that the rear top and side wall sections 31 and 34 combine to define a rear cover section which is carried directily by the frame 15, while the forward top and side wall sections 32 and 35, and front wall 30 combine to define a forward cover section swingable as a unit about the laterally extending axis of hinge means 33. Of course, any suitable hinge means may be provided. Upon forward and upward swinging movement of the forward cover sections 30, 32 and 35, the accessory 13 is forwardly exposed or presented to view for convenient access in removal and replacement thereof.

Should it be desired to change the cover 25, as for changing the color, design or the like, say for interior decorating purposes, it is only necessary to shift the entire cover upwardly, the top wall rib or projection 25 moving upwardly out of the groove or recess 21, and the side wall projections or ribs 29 sliding vertically for withdrawal out of the frame side member recesses or grooves 20. Replacement of the same or a different cover 25 may be quickly and easily effected by mere reversal of the above-described procedure, as by movement of the cover 25 in the direction of arrows 37 in FIG. 2.

While it may be preferred, and is within the contemplation of the present invention, to provide covers 25 of different depths, as for conforming location in covering relation with recessed and not recessed toilet paper rolls, it will also be appreciated that a single cover may be employed with either such bathroom accessory, as desired.

In FIG. 5, the cover 25 is shown in its concealing relation with respect to a non-recessed toilet tissue holder 12a, carrying a roll of toilet tissue 13a, so that it will be appreciated the instant cover is selectively usable with both recessed and non-recessed toilet tissue holders. Also shown in FIG. is the use of threaded fasteners or screws, as at 230 engaged through the frame 15 into the bathroom wall 11 to mount the holding part or frame in its facing relation with the wall.

From the foregoing, it is seen that the present invention provides a cover device for a wall-mounted toilet accessory which fully accomplishes its intended objects and is otherwise well suited to meet practical conditions of manufacture, installation and use.

Although the present invention has been described in some detail by way of illustration and example for purposes of clarity of understanding, it is understood that certain changes and modifications may be made within the spirit of the invention.

What is claimed is:

l. A quickly removable gravitationally retained cover device for a wall-mounted toilet accessory, said device comprising-an open frame adapted to be fixed in' facing engagement with the wall extending about the accessory, said frame comprising a laterally extending upper member and a pair of generally vertical side members depending from opposite ends of said upper member, said frame having a pair of vertically extending laterally oppositely opening recesses on opposite side members of said frame and opening upwardly therethrough; and a cover comprising a top wall resting on and extending forwardly from the upper member of said frame beyond the accessory, a pair of side walls depending from opposite sides of said top wall along said frame recesses and extending forwardly beyond the accessory, and a front wall depending from the forward region of said top wall extending laterally between said side walls in front of the accessory, to effectively conceal the accessory from view while affording access thereto from beneath the cover, and projections on said side walls removably slidably engageable in said recesses upon vertical shifting of said cover to releasably retain said cover in its concealing relation with said accessory, said upper frame member being formed with an upwardly facing recess extending laterally between and opening at its opposite ends into respective recesses of said side members, and a depending projection on the rearward region of said top wall removably engageable in said upper frame member recess.

2. A quickly removable gravitationally retained cover device for a wall-mounted toilet accessory, said device comprising an open frame adapted to be fixed in facing engagement with the wall extending about the accessory, said frame comprising a laterally extending upper member and a pair of generally vertical side members depending from opposite ends of said upper member, said frame having a pair of vertically extending laterally oppositely opening recesses on opposite side members of said frame and opening upwardly therethrough; and a cover comprising a top wall resting on and extending forwardly from the upper member of said frame beyond the accessory, a pair of side walls depending from opposite sides of said top wall along said frame recesses and extending forwardly beyond the accessory, and a front wall depending from the forward region of said top wall extending laterally between said side walls in front of the accessory, to effectively conceal the accessory from view while affording access thereto from beneath the cover, and projections on said side walls removably slidably engageable in said recesses upon vertical shifting of said cover to releasably retain said cover in its concealing relation with said accessory, said top wall being sectional and comprising rearward and forward sections hingedly connected together for relative swinging movement of the forward section about a laterally extending axis, and said side walls being sectional and each comprising rearward and forward sections, said rear side wall sections each depending fixedly from a respective side of said rear top wall section, and said forward side wall sections each depending fixedly from a respective side of said forward top wall section, whereby said forward top and side wall sections and said front wall are swingable as a unit to open said cover for enlarged access to the accessory.

Claims (2)

1. A quickly removable gravitationally retained cover device for a wall-mounted toilet accessory, said device comprising an open frame adapted to be fixed in facing engagement with the wall extending about the accessory, said frame comprising a laterally extending upper member and a pair of generally vertical side members depending from opposite ends of said upper member, said frame having a pair of vertically extending laterally oppositely opening recesses on opposite side members of said frame and opening upwardly therethrough; and a cover comprising a top wall resting on and extending forwardly from the upper member of said frame beyond the accessory, a pair of side walls depending from opposite sides of said top wall along said frame recesses and extending forwardly beyond the accessory, and a front wall depending from the forward region of said top wall extending laterally between said side walls in front of the accessory, to effectively conceal the accessory from view while affording access thereto from beneath the cover, and projections on said side walls removably slidably engageable in said recesses upon vertical shifting of said cover to releasably retain said cover in its concealing relation with said accessory, said upper frame member being formed with an upwardly facing recess extending laterally between and opening at its opposite ends into respective recesses of said side members, and a depending projection on the rearward region of said top wall removably engageable in said upper frame member recess.

2. A quickly removable gravitationally retained cover device for a wall-mounted toilet accessory, said device comprising an open frame adapted to be fixed in facing engagement with the wall extending about the accessory, said frame comprising a laterally extending upper member and a pair oF generally vertical side members depending from opposite ends of said upper member, said frame having a pair of vertically extending laterally oppositely opening recesses on opposite side members of said frame and opening upwardly therethrough; and a cover comprising a top wall resting on and extending forwardly from the upper member of said frame beyond the accessory, a pair of side walls depending from opposite sides of said top wall along said frame recesses and extending forwardly beyond the accessory, and a front wall depending from the forward region of said top wall extending laterally between said side walls in front of the accessory, to effectively conceal the accessory from view while affording access thereto from beneath the cover, and projections on said side walls removably slidably engageable in said recesses upon vertical shifting of said cover to releasably retain said cover in its concealing relation with said accessory, said top wall being sectional and comprising rearward and forward sections hingedly connected together for relative swinging movement of the forward section about a laterally extending axis, and said side walls being sectional and each comprising rearward and forward sections, said rear side wall sections each depending fixedly from a respective side of said rear top wall section, and said forward side wall sections each depending fixedly from a respective side of said forward top wall section, whereby said forward top and side wall sections and said front wall are swingable as a unit to open said cover for enlarged access to the accessory.
