Heretofore a class of reels known as common six-ribbed reels has been in almost universal use' among manufacturers of flour',

and, these reels being hexagonal, the method of cloth is very imperfect.

My improved reelbelongs to the latter class; and the objectl of my invention is to provide a construction in whichthe chop is brought in sliding contact with as large as possible an extent of bolting-cloth, sc as to increase the capacity of the reel and improve the quality of the. material bolted, and which, furthermore, is especially adapted to permitthe conversion of the old-style six-ribbed reel into the' improved class to which my reel belongs, so as to make the transition 'less costly to the miller. To this end myinvention consists in the general construction and arrangement of the parts, and also in the .peculiar construction of buckets rigidly secured to the heads Within the reel and arranged in proximity'to the bolting-cloth, by means of which in the rotation of the reel the chop is made to slide over the bolting-cloth on the descending side of the kreel as well as on the ascending side, and which also permits the chop to readily collect at the bottom of the'reel..l
