SOLUTION OF SUN SCREENING AGENT AND INSECT REPELLENT WITH DISPENSING BOTTLE SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION My present invention relates to a unique and novel improvement in the art of protecting a persons skin. Many persons wish to simultaneously protect their skin with a sun screening agent as well as insect repellent. Other persons at times only wish the protection of one of the aforementioned agents. From US. Pat. Nos. 3,529,055 and 3,590.1 18 it is known that sun screening agents have been employed in an oil base solution as well as insect repellent in another oil base solution. The user commonly carries two dispensing bottles, wherein he applies the two solutions separately to the skin resulting in a uniform mixture.
Accordingly, it is an object of my present invention to provide a means of applying an insect repellent and sun screening agent oil base solution to a persons skin as well as being able to apply either agent individually.
A further object of myinvention is to provide a specially designed dispensing bottle having two interior chambers communicating with a mixing head, wherein any two liquids can be stored separately and mixed during use. I
Briefly, my present invention comprises a sun screening agent solution and insect repellent solution contained in individual chambers of a dispensing bottle. A dispensing head affixed to the dispensing bottle allows direct application of either the sun screening agent so lution or insect repellent solution as an individual solution to a persons skin or as a mixture of the sun screening agent and insect repellent by means of a mixing assembly contained within the dispensing head, wherein the two individual solutions are mixed together.
BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS The objects and features of the invention may be understood with reference to the following detailed description of an illustrative embodiment of the invention, taken together with the accompanying drawings in which:
FIG. 1 illustrates a side cross sectional view of the dispensing bottle;
FIG. 2 illustrates a top perspective view of the mixing head assembly; and
FIG. 3 illustrates a top perspective view of the dispensing bottle.
DESCRIPTION OF THE PREFERRED EMBODIMENT Turning now descriptively to the drawings, in which similar reference characters denote similar elements throughout the several views, FIGS. 1-2 show a two chambered dispensing bottle for dispensing an insect repellent solution ll or a sun screen agent solution 12 as well as a mixture of solutions 11, 12, wherein the mixture of solutions 11, 12 can be pre-prepared or prepared from the individual solutions 11, 12 contained in two interior chambers 13, 14 through a mixing head assembly 15. The dispensing bottle 10 comprises a hollow cylinder shaped casing 16 having a closed bottom 17 and a closed top 18 lateral base 18. The interior chamber is divided into a left 13 and right 14 chamber by a vertically placed divider 19 affixed between the bottom 17 and top 18 bases and inside sidewalls 41 of casing 16. A first 20 and second 21 aperture are contained in 2 base 18 as shown in FIG. 3, wherein aperture 20, 21 communicate with the left chamber 13. A third 22 and fourth 23 aperture are contained in base 18, wherein aperture 22, 23 communicate with the right chamber 14. The mixing head assembly 15 comprises a cylinder shape sleeve 24 having a second closed top lateral base 25 and an open bottom base is affixed at the bottom open periphery 26 of the sleeve 24 to the top center surface 25 of the top base 18of casing 1 6, wherein apertures 20, 21, 22, 23 are contained within the area described by the sleeve 24. The second top lateral base 25 contains a fifth 27, a sixth 28, and a seventh aperture 29. first vertical longitudinal tube 30 communicates between aperture 20, 27. A second vertical longitudinal tube 38 communicates between aperture 23, 28. The arms 31, 32 of a fork shaped tube 33 communi cates with apertures 21, 22 while the base leg 34 of tube 33 is of a spiral configuration extending vertically upward into sleeve 24. A hollow bulb element 35 communicates with the free end of leg 34, wherein'a third vertical longitudinal tube 36 communicates between element 35 and aperture 28.
FIG. 2 shows three plug members 37 having pull means 43 inserted into apertures 27, 28, 29. If a plug ,member 37 is removed from aperture 27 and the bottle 10 is inverted, insect repellent solution 11 will flow through tube 30.
If a plug member 37 is removed from aperture 29 and the bottle 10 is inverted, sun screen agent solution 12 flows through tube 38. If a plug member 37 is removed from aperture 28 and the bottle 10 is inverted, sun screen agent solution 12 flows from right chamber 14 into tube 33 as well as insect repellent 11 flows from left chamber 13 into tube 33, wherein solution 13, 14 are mixed in spiral formed legs 34 as well as in bulb element 35. The mixture of solutions 13, 14 flows out through tube 36. A screw cap 39 threads onto female threads 40 contained on the outside periphery 42 of sleeve 24.
The insect repellent solution 11 comprises an active organic chemical compound contained in an oil such as paraffin, vegetable, olive, peanut, sesame or almond. Typical active insect repellent compounds are: oil of citronella, dimethyl phthalate, dibutyl phtalate, n- (meta-toluyl)-methyl piperidine, 2'ethyl-l-3-hexanediol, and butoxy polypropylene glycol, wherein the concentration of active compound in oil is 0.1 to 10% most preferably being 2.0%.
The sun screen agent solution 12 comprises an active organic compound in an oil base, wherein the active organic compound absorbs ultraviolet radiation in the region of 280320 milli-microns, the region causing sunburn of the skin of a person. These compounds are selected from a group consisting essentially of: ethyl p aminobenzoate, propyl p-aminobenzoate, glyceryl paminobenzoate, isobutyl p-aminobenzoate, ethyl pglucosylimido-benzoate, 2-ethoxyethyl pmethoxycinnamate, p-methoxycinnamate, and 2,4 dihydroxybenzophenome. The active organic sun screen agents are contained in an oil base at a 0.1 to 10.0% concentration level preferably at 2.0%. The oil bases are: paraffin, vegetable, olive, peanut, sesame, or almond.
Hence obvious changes may be made in the specific embodiment of the invention described herein, such modifications being within the spirit and scope of the invention claimed, it is indicated that all matter contained herein is intended as an illustrative and not as limiting in scope.
