Description

A. Z OLPER. BOTTLE BRUSH.
(No Model.)
,784. Patented Dec. 27, 1892.
H N M U A m: Noam: PETERS 00.. wow-Lima. WASHINGTON, 04 c.
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ANTON ZOLPER, OF CRAMERS HILL, NEW JERSEY.
BOTTLE- BRUSH.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 488,784, dated December 27, 1892.
Apolio ation filed March 14, 1 8 9 2.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, ANTON ZOLPER, a citizen of the United States, residing at Orarners Hill, county of Camden, and State of New Jersey, haveinvented a new and useful Improvement in Bottle-Brushes, which improvement is fully set forth in the following specification and accompanying drawings.
My invention consists of a bottle washing brush provided with a removable cap for holding the bristles, whereby said bristles when worn may be removed.
Figure 1 represents a side elevation of a brush embodying my invention. Fig. 2 represents a perspective view of a brush showing the various parts separated.
Referring to the drawings:A designates the body of a bottle or other brush, and B the shank thereof. The end of said shank is threaded, and to the end is screwed a hollow cap 0, with open ends which carries the end bristles D, E, of the brush.' In said cap are slots F, E, which are primarily open, as seen in Fig. 2, and into the same are inserted the bristles D, while the central bristleE is fitted into the chamber formed by the cap. The walls of the said slots of the cap form tongues G, which are bent or brought together, where- Serial No. 424,839. (No model).
by they close upon the bristles and firmly hold the same. By these means, it will be seen that when the bristles are worn they may be removed by unscrewing the cap and opening the tongues thereof, after which new bristles may be substituted, and the tongues closed thereagainst similar to that above stated. As the end bristles Wear outmore quickly than those of the body of the brush, the entire brush is not lost, as is the case where the end bristles are fixtures of the brush.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is;-
1. A brush having a shank with threaded end, a hollow cap screwed on said threaded end and having slots in its sides and open ends, and bristles held in said cap, substantially as described.
2. A hollow cap adapted to be secured to the shank of a brush, and having slots in its sides and open ends, and bristles held in said cap, substantially as described.
ANTON ZOLPER.
