COMBINED BATH-TUB SEAT AND BIDET.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Letters Patent No. 663,826, dated December 11, 900- Application filed $eptem'ber 1'7, 1900. Serial No. 30,369. No model.)
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, STEPHEN D. BAKER, of New Haven, in the county of New Haven and State of Connecticut, have invented a new Improvement in a Combined Bath-Tub Seat and Bidet; and I do hereby declare the following, when taken in connection with the accompanying drawings and the figures of reference marked thereon, to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, and which said drawings constitute part of this specification, and represent, in
Figure l,a perspective view of my improved device; Fig. 2, a view in vertical transverse section of a bath-tub provided with my device.
My invention relates to animproved combined bath-tub seat and bidet, the object being to produce a simple and convenient bathtub accessory.
With these ends in view my invention consists in certain details of construction and combinations of parts, as will be hereinafter described, and pointed out in the claim.
In carrying out my invention I employ a seat 2, which is a little shorter than the width of an ordinary bath-tub and provided at each end with swinging hooks 3, by means of which it is suspended in the bath-tub. These hooks may be of any approved construction and may be applied to the seat in any approved manner.
As shown, the seat is slightly tapered at its ends and formed with a beveled central opening 4, below which in a skeleton frame 5, secured in place to the under face of the seat by screws 6, I locate a nozzle 7, having a short connecting-pipe 8, which is designed to receive a short tube or pipe led to it from one of the regular cocks of the bath-tub or from a special cock provided for it. The said frame 5, nozzle 7, and connection 8 constitute what I call the bidet of my improvement.
My improved seat may be used after the or dinary manner of bath-tub seats, and it may be additionally used as a bidet, whereby it becomes an extremely convenient accessory of a bathtub.
I would have it understood that I do not limit myself to the precise construction herein described, but hold myself at liberty to make such deviations therefrom as fairly fall within the spirit and scope of my invention.
Having fully described my invention, What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
In a combined batl1-tub and bidet, the combination with a seat, of means applied to the ends thereof for removably suspending the same in a bath-tub below the edge thereof, a skeleton frame secured directly to the lower face of the seat, a nozzle mounted in the said skeleton frame beneath the opening injthe seat, and means for connecting the said nozzle with a source of water-supply.
In testimony whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
STEPHEN D. BAKER.
