To all whmn it may concern:
Be it known that I, SAMUEL J nssor, of the town of Sud bury, in the district of Nipissing, Province of Ontario, Dominion of Canada, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Show-Cases, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to improvements in show-cases consisting of a series of rotatablymounted sections; and the objects of my invention are to provide a cheap and simple device of this class whose axis shall lie in a hori- Zontal direction and to provide means whereby the show-case may be rotated and the various sections successively brought to view as desired, further objects being to provide adjustable bottoms and sides for the various compartments of the case, so that the contents thereof may be held securely in place; and it consists, essentially, of a plurality of sections substantially rectangular in cross-section rotatably mounted on a horizontally-disposed shaft, the bottoms of various sections being provided with bolts which are adapted to engage slots in the sides of the said casing and In other sections adjustment of the side is provided for in a similar manner by having bolts on the side engaging slots in the end pieces, the various parts of the device being constructed and arranged in detail as hereinafter more particularly described.
Figure 1 shows a perspective view of my show-case, part being broken away and in section to more clearly show the construction thereof. Fig. 2 is a transverse section showing the arrangement of the various compartments. Fig. 3 is a detail of a portion of the compartment, showing the manner of adjusting the sides when desired. Fig. 4 shows a detail of the bolts used in connection with the adjustable bottom. Fig. 5 shows a detail of the bolt used to secure the case to the stand in the various positions.
The various sections a, b, 0, d, e, f, g, and lb of the show-case are suitably secured in a manner well known to those familiar with this class of work to a suitable firm piece 2', which is in turn secured to an end piece 7'. A pintle it is provided in the end piece.
Z is a stand of any suitable form, thatshown consisting of a longitudinal piecem and two upright pieces a and 0. Two holes are provided in the upright pieces adapted to journal the pintle A nut 19 or other equivalent device is secured on the end of the pintle is to secure it firmly in place. .A bolt 5 is secured to the stand Z and adapted to secure the case in various positions by fitting into a plurality of slots 8.
Each of the sections is provided with a glass cover q, secured to it by any suitable means, such as the hinges r. A catch or similar device s is provided on the opposite side of the glass door to prevent it opening when in the lower positions.
To allow for the various forms of the contents. I have provided the adjustable bottom shown. This consists, essentially, of a rectangular slab t, of wood, glass, or other suitable material, to which are secured small bolts or a similar device a. A plurality of slots '0 are provided in the sections, and the bolt to is adapted to engage these slots. A similar adjustment is provided for the side 2, bolts 3 being provided thereon adapted to engage slots 4 in the end of the case. It is to be understood that these adjustable sides and hottoms may be taken out or put in at pleasure, and it may be dispensed with entirely, if necessary. In Fig. 2 I have shown one side and one bottom in place, the remaining sections having none.
It is to be understood that in carrying out my invention various changes may be made in the details of the construction without materially departing from the spirit of my invention.
What I claim as my invention is 1. In a device of the class described the combination with a plurality of rotatably-mounted sections of removable adjustable bottoms adapted to tit in said sections as and for the purpose specified.
2. In a device of the class described the combination with a plurality of rotatably-mounted sections of removable adjustable sides adapted to fit in said sections as and for the purpose specified.
. 3. In a device of the class described the combination with a plurality of rotatably-mounted sections, of removable adjustable bottoms adapted to fit in said sections, and removable adjustable sides adapted to fit in said sections as and for the purpose specified.
4. In a device of the class described the combination with a plurality of rotatably-mounted sections of removable adjustable bottoms adapted to fit in said sections, removable adjustable sides adapted to fit in said sections and means for locking the case in the various positions to which it has been rotated as and for the purpose specified.
5. In a device of the class described the combination With a plurality of rotatably-mounted sections, a plurality of removable adjustable bottoms for said sections and a plurality of bolts in said bottoms adapted to engage suitable slots provided in the sides of the sections as and for the purpose specified.
6. In a device of the class described the combination With a plurality of rotatably-mounted sections, of a plurality of removable adjustable sides for said sections and a plurality of bolts in said sides adapted to engage suitable slots provided in the ends of said sections as and for the purpose specified.
7. In a device of the class described the combination With a plurality of rotatably-mounted sections, a plurality of removable adjustable bottoms for said sections, a plurality of bolts in said bottoms adapted to engage suitable slots provided in the sides of the sections,
a plurality of removable adjustable sides for said sections, a plurality of bolts in said sides adapted to engage suitable slots in the ends Efdthe sections as and for the purpose speci- Signed at Sudbury, in the district of Nipissing, this 20th day of February, 1905. 1
