To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, ALBERT N. LATTIN, a citizen of the United States, residing in the borough of Brooklyn, county of Kings, city and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Im rovements in Bath- Sprays, of which the following is a specifica tion.

The object I-have in view is the roduction of a bath-spra with which will e com bined a iiesh-brus whereby the desirable effects of massage and cleansing can be simultaneously secured. I attain these objects by the mechanism illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a sectional view of a device embodying my invention, taken on the lines 1 1v of Iiig. 2 and Fig. 2 is a plan view oi the device.

In both of the views like parts are designated by the same reference characters.

In carrying out my invention I provide a hollow metal body 1, having an inlet-pipe 2, which ma also act as a sup ort. To this inlet-pipe 2 1s attached a han le portion 3, having a hollow center 4f. To the pipe is attached a ilexible tube 5 by means of a coupling 6. A 'The other extremity of the tube is provided with the usual means for attachment to a faucet. (Not shown.)

The body 1 is circular in plan, as shown in Fig. 2, but has a iiat or slightly-curved face 7.v This face is provided with numerous periorations 8, which serve as a ertures for ermitting exit of water from t e body landp directing the streams of water. The sides of the body 1 are formed with an annular groove 9, having a :flat section 10.

lnconnection with the body 1 is used a softrubber cover 11. This cover has an annular rim 12, which may be s rung on into the annular groove 9, and will engage with the flat section 10 and by its elasticlty will serve as a means for removably connectin the cover and body together. ,The 'annu ar rim 12 serves as a guard or cushion for the lbody to prevent injury to the person usingthe device or the bath-.xtures That ortion of the rubber cover inside of the annu arportion 12 is reticulated, as shown in Fig. 2, or in the form of an open network or skeleton frame formed of bars 13 with separating-interstices 14. The interstices, as shown, are considerably larger than the apertures 8, so that the apertures will not become covered or the passage of water through them in any Way retarded or deflected. lastic projections 15 are located u on the bars 13 intermediate the apertures.

Other guiding means may be devised, if necessary, or be entirely omitted, if desired, as their use is not absolutely essential.

'Ihe device may be used, as desired, Without the rubber attachment, as abath-spray. The rubber attachment may be readily a plied or removed and when Worn out may e replaced without the use of tools. By using ru ber in the form of a reticulated cover in y connection with a metal body having apertures but a minimum amount of rubber is reuired, and the expense of manufacturing they evice is reduced. By employing rubber in the form of a networlr as a support for the elastic projections the apertures may be arranged m the metal and will therefore be protected and revented from becoming clo ged by dirt, and) the passage ofthe water Wil? be restricted by distortions of the rubber. The metal frame serves as a rigid backin to the rubber and prevents distortion of the atter inV use. The rigid handle, in connection with the ri id body and elastic cover, permits the device eing used with the greatestfacility and otherwise inaccessible portions of the person readily reached, and owing to the rigid nature ofthe iront of the body as much pressure can be applied to the brush as is desired, thereby securing all of the desirable effects of a iiesh-brush. t

Having now described my invention, what I claim, and desire/to secure by Letters Patent, is

1. A spray having a metal body, having a face With apertures therein, in combination with a reticulated rubber cover bearing against the face, and carrying elastic projections.

5. A spray having a metal body, having a face with apertures therein, in combination With a reticulated rubber cover bearing against the face, and carrying elastic projections, the rubber cover having an annular portion forming a guard.

6. A s ray having a metal body, with apertures t erein, in combination with a reticulated rubber cover, carrlvling elastic projections, the metal body aving an annular groove andthe cover an annular enlarged portion which engages therewith and forms an attaching means or the cover.

7. A cover for a bath-spray, mad'e of soft rubber havmg an annular portion with means `for attachment to the spra and a reticulated body with integral proJections thereon, located between the interstices, the openings being relativel large so as to form an open network or ske eton frame.

8. In a bath-spray, a metal spray withan apertured bottom having a pin thereon, in combination with a reticulated rubber cover having elastic projections, the pin engaging with an interstlce in the cover.
