To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that 'I, SARAH G. SoHIFF, a citizen of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented a new and useful Catamenial Garment, of which the followcatamenial' garfor the ready changing of a pad or na kin and the answering of calls of nature wit out necessitating-removal of the garment.

With the above and other objects in'view, as will appear as the nature of the' invention is better understood, the same consists in the novel construction and combination of parts of'a catamenial garment, as will be hereinafter fully described and claimed.

- T e broad features of novelty above briefly outlined are apparent at a casual inspection of the invention, but the s ecific points of-the invention are not so 0 vious and will now be described.

In order to'assemble a pa or napkin with the garment, each of the flaps has secured at its upper end a loop '14, preferably of tape, with which are combined safety-pins 15, that are designed to engage the pad or napkin. The lower ends of the-legs have combined with them elastic thigh-bands 16, that are disposed in pockets formed for the purpose, and are thus assembled in order to avoid injury whenthe garment is washed. These bands are preferabl strips of covered elastic and may thus be acli'usted around the thighs by the wearer. It will be seen from the foregoing descripticn that the garment of this lnvention will be positive in effecting the objects sought, so that the wearer will at all times be certain that no mortifying accident can take place. Further, by the manner-in which the article is constructed it will be cool and comfortable to wear, will not chafe or otherwise distress the user, will be cleanly, and can be laundered repeatedl without damage.

Having thus escribed the invention, what is claims is '1. A one-piece garment of the class described comprising a pair of drawers havin enlarged openings in the seat and abdomina portions, flaps inseparable from the garment for normally closing said openings, and

means upon the flaps for attaching a napkin thereto.

2. A onepiece garment of the class described comprisin a pair of drawers having its seat, crotch an part of its abdominal portions made of moisture-proof material, said seat and abdominal portions having separate Openings therein, flaps inseparable from the garment for normally closing said openings, said flaps consisting of moisture-proof material, and means upon the flaps forffastening a napkin within the garment.

3. A one -piece garment comprising a pair of drawers having separate openings in the seat and abdominal portions thereof, flaps inseparable from the garment for normally closing theopenings, loops secured to the inner faces of the flaps, and napkin-engaging devices carried by said loops.

4. A one-piece garment comprising a pair of drawers having separate openings in the seat and abdominal portions thereof, flaps inseparable from the w garment for normally closing the openings, said flaps and the crotch, seat and part of the abdominal portions of the garment being moisture -proof, and means for holding the ends of the legs of the garment tightly around the limbs of the wearer.
