FRIEDRICH VOEGE, OF LUOERNE, SWITZERLAND.
ALBUM AND CASE THEREFOR.
Specification of Letters Patent.
Patented N ov- 20, 1906.
Application filed December 3,1904- Serial No. 235,280V3.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, FRIEDRICH VoEeE, a citizen of the United States of America, residing at Lucerne, Switzerland, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Albums and Cases Therefor, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to an improved album-case and album, the latter being substantially in the form of a book adapted to be pulled out of the case to an extent which will allow of turning over the leaves without inconvenience. The case can be used to carry the irontispiece or title-page of the album and to form an envelop in which the album can be transmitted by post, the address for delivery being placed on said envelop.
The invention is illustrated in the annexed drawings, in which-- Figure 1 is an elevation of the album-case with the album inserted therein. Fig. Z'represents the case with the album partly drawn out. Fig. 3 is across-section of the albumcase and album; Fig. 4, an elevation of the back of the case, and Fig. 5 a side view representing the case set up in the manner of a photograph-frame or the like.
The case comprises a frame a, provided with two cover-boards b and 0. One side of the frame is cut away at a short of the full such extended part is fixed a cross-bar e, which limits the movement of the album when the latter is withdrawn from the case by engaging the shoulders a of the case. The album can contain pictures, poetry, or any other suitable matter. The frame is suitably beveled or chamferedand the coverboards are adapted to receive illustration. On the back cover-board c is hinged a flap], as shown in dotted lines in Fig. 4, covered by a sheet of paper 9, adapted for the reception of a postal address and stamp and also to keep the flap f in place. Until such time as the flap f is to be used, as in Fig. 5, to support the frame the sides of the said flap remain connected with the back of the case by the cover-paper g, the connection being of such a nature that it can easily be destroyed by means of a penknife or the like.
I claim a The combination of a case a having opening a and front and rear cover-boards and an album within said case adapted to travers e said open end, of a flap hinged to one of the cover-boards and a severable pa or sheet attaching said flap immovably to t e coverboard.
' In witness whereof I have signed this specification in the presence of two witnesses.
FRIEDRICH VOEGE.
