CHRISTIANWILLIAM HAFERMALZ, OF PROVIDENCE, RHODE ISLAND.
Letters Patent No. 85,815, dated January 12, 1869.
INIPROVED SWIVEL MIRROR-FRAME.
` o The Schedule referred to in these Iietters Patent and making part of the lame.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN WILLIAM HAFER- MALz, of Providence, in the county of Providence, and State of Rhode Island, have invented a new and useful Improvementin Swivel Mirror-Frallies; andl de here -and connecting thereto a bracket, for attachment to ,the wall, for suspending the glass, the connection being such that the glass may be oscillated either in a horizontal or vertical plane. y
'Ijhe drawing shows a side elevation of my improved apparatus, partly broken away.
A represents the frame of the glass, which may be made of any suitable material, but which I prefer to make ofi-metal, provided with a xcd axle, B, which will be cast with the frame, when made of metal.
O representsa swivel, supported in an arm of the bracket, so as to be adjusted in a horizontal plane, and provided with a'set-screwvto hold it at any point.
To this swivel the axle B is connected by a horizontal opening through it, wherein the axle may oscillate in a vertical plane, and may be also secured by a setscrew.
By this arrangement the glassmaybe adjusted to any desired position. The bracket and swivel may also be made of castmetal, requiring only the labor of tapping the holes for the set-screws, to lit them for use.
My improved attachment may be manufactured together with the frame, and furnished to the tra e already for use with them, at a very small advance of cost upon the frame.
Having thus described my invention,
What I claim as new, anddesre to secure by Let- Y ters Patent, is-
The bracket, having the horizontal arm, theswivel C, adj nstable vertically and horizontally in said arm by .means of the set-screw, and the arm B of the glass- I iame A, adjustable horizontally in the swivel by-means ofthe set-screw, all arranged as described, for the purpose specified.
The above specification of my invention signed by me, this 29th day of June, 1868.
CHRISTIAN WILLIAM HAFERMALZ. Witnesses:
HENRY MARTIN, J ons D. KELLY.
