Description

l PATENED SE'FT. 10. 1907. .L GALLMANN & J. SABATBLLL SPRAYING DEVICE.
APPLIOATION FILED APRIIQ, 1907.
IRVING CA'LLMANN AND JOSEPH ,SABATELLL OF NEW YORK, N. Y.
SPRA'YING DEVICE.
Application tiled April 19,
To all 'whom 'it may lconcern: 5
Beit known that we, InvINo (kiLLMANN, a citizen of the United States, and a resident of the borough of Manhattan, in the city of New York, in the county and State of New York, and Josera SABATELLI, a citizen oi the United States, and a resident of the borough of Manhattan, in the city otNew York, in the county and State of New York, have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Spraying Devices, of which the following is a specification. Our invention relates to devices for spraying water or other liquids, and the particular application of the same ivhich we have had more especially in mind in making the said invention, is to devices for shower bath or for shampooing or like purposes, though we do not mean to limit the application of our invention to any such uses.
The invention consists in the novel construction, arrangement, and combination of parts, all as hereinafter more particularly described.
In the accompanying drawing-Figure l is a side view oi' our invention, a portion of the outer casing heing broken away; and Fig. 2 is a longitudinal section of a portion oi' the invention, as hereinafter particularly described.
A is a flexiblewater-tight tube or pipo, bearing at its` end a spray-nozzle or similar device of any suitable construction. inasmuch as pipes or tubes similar to that employed as a part of our invention are well known and their construqtion well-understood, we do not deem it 'necessary to explain the construction of this part of our invention in detail.
D is a rigid tube or pipe, one end of which is inserted inside of the lower end oi' the flexible tube A and bears a transverse piu F. Tile other end oi the pipe D is screw-threaded externally, at Il, and adjacent thereto is an external sleeve l forming an annui-.ir socket into which the lower end of the flexible tube A isfloreed and where it is firmly held.
E is a stout but flexible wire or rod, which is inserted inside ol' the bore oi the flexible lube A and which .serves to strengthen theisame against bending and to hold` the saine more firmly in any forni or position into which it may be bent or placed. The I ower part of the Specification of Letters Patent.
l. Patented Sept. 10, 19,0'7.A 1907. serial No. 369,177. i
Wire E passes i'nto'the tube D and the extreme lower F, the ring in the 'wire being designated by the lletter G. C represents the upper end of the water-service pipe extreme upper end of this pipe is provided with an enlai-ged socket L; which is internally screw-threaded to receivethe externally screw-threaded portion H of the tube D. y
parts above described beings,r assembled, and water being allowed to pass through the tube or pipe (i, the tube D,
through the spray or shower device B. As the greater part of the length oi the device consists of the flexible tube A', the spray or shower device ll may be given a considerable degree of motion, and wherever itis placed it will be hold, partly by the normal partial rigidity 0f which is therein contained.
Having thus described our invention, what we claim as new and Vdesire to secure by Letters Patent, is as follows:
1. The combination withn rigid tuhe or pipe, provided with a flexible wire or rod extending;'longitudinally thereA from. ol a flexible tube 'or pipe secured to ythe end of the rile-id tube or pipe; the flexible wire or rod extending into the bore of the flexible tube or'pipe und beine; adapted lo strenglher* the same and to tend to hold lhe'same in any position into which it may be bent or placed. 4
L. 'ihe combination willi a rigid tube or pipe, provided with n flexible wire' or rod extendingl longitudinally there- -t'ron\. o1 a flexible tube or pipe secured lto the end of the rigid lube or pipe and bearing arv its ouler end a Spray or shower device; the flexible wire or rod extending into ille bore of' the flexible tube or pipe and beinj.,r adapted to strengthen the saule and lo lend lo hold llie saine in'nny position into which il muy be bent or placed.
In wlness whereof we bave hereunto .sia'nyd our naine seribing.;` witnesses.
end is bent into a ring or hook and passes around the pin.
through which water is supplied to the device. The' The operation of our invention is obvious. Upon the and-the flexible tube A, it is delivered at the end' the tube Afbu't also by the strengthening wire or rod E 4this lfilh day ol April 19o?, in the presence ol' two sub-
