WILLIAM G. UTSOHIG, OF SAN JOSE, CALIFORNIA. DEVICE FOR EXTRAGTING MATTER FROM INFLAMED TISSUES.

Application filed April 10, 1905. Serial No. 254,867.
the nozzle drawing into the cylinder by the consequent suction the pus or blackhead intended to be extracted. The opening of the handles will cause the expulsion of the object drawn into the cylinder by the downward pressure of the admitted air. To raise a liquid into the cylinder the nozzle is immersed in the liquid and the operation of the handles is repeated as with the extraction of pus or a blackhead. It will be seen by said drawing and description that the nozzle may be placed upon a pimple "without grasping the cylinder so that pus or a blackhead may be extracted by motion with the use of but one hand. Rings such as afiixed to a pair of shears may be secured to the ends of the handles for the better securing of the same during their operation if desired. The cylinder 5 is preferably made of glass owing to its 0 eapness and lightness, but metal or hard rubber may be used. in its manufacture if desired.
Having thus described my claim as new and desire to ters Patent is:
In a pus and blackhead remover the combination of a cylinder having a tapering nozzle at one end and a flange at the other end; an angular arm having a handle and a vertical branch extending from said arm; a clasp connected to said branch having a groove penetrated by said flange for sustaining said cylinder; a lever and handle centrally fulcrumed to said arm for the operation of said remover by the closing of said handles, and a piston in said cylinder connected by a movable rod to said lever for drawing into said cylinder and expelling therefrom foreign matter to be removed by said device, substantially as described.
