To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, EGINABDUS RUTHVEN CARSWELL, Sin, a citizen of the United States, residing at Philadelphia, in the count of Philadelphia and State of Penns lvania, aving invented a new and useful In rovement in Bed-Sheets and Crib-Sheets, e the following s ecification.

The -0 ject of my invention is two-fold, namely, to prevent the bottom sheet from slipping down from the head of the bed, and, by preventing the top sheet from pulling up at t e foot, to secure firmly in place, all the top covers. In adjustment, the bottom sheet fits over the head-end of the mattress, and the top sheet, similarly, over the footend of the same.

The special contrivance of this sheet is, that one end turns down the full thickness of the mattress, and a little more, and an equal length back under, so as to form a pocket for the end of the mattress to fit in. The method of making said pocket so as to prevent the same from tearing, under strain, is shown in Figures 1, 2, and 3' of the drawing hereto attached, and made part of these specifications. v

and the end of the sheet folds twice on t e line of the slits, once on the line of the slits E F and J I, and-once on the line of'the slits G H and L K; the side A C folds on the line H F; the side B D folds onthe line K I; the flaps fold in on the same lines; and when thus folded, the flaps formed by the slits, so overlap the sides and each other as to form a complete square, P Q, adjacent to theend of the pocket, and on the two sides thereof. And these aremade fast to other by sewing about the margin of the fol ed square.

What I claim as new is,
