CURTAIN POLE.

Patented Feb. 28, 1893.

ewevzw M/Lxrma @y mm UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.

LESLIE R. IIARSI'IA, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS, ASSIGNOR TO TIIE L. R. I'IARSIIA MANUFACTURING COMPANY.

DESIGN FOR A CURTAIN-POLE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,250, dated February 28, 1893.

Application tiled January 6, 1893. Serial No. 457.553. Term of patent 3% years.

To all whom it may concern.-

Be it known that I, LESLIE R. HARSHA, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, county of Cook, and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Curtain-Pole, which is fully set forth in the following specification, reference being had tothe accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof, wherein- Figure 1 is an elevation, and Fig. 2, a section.

This design is intended for poles or rods which, by reason of their adaptation to the use of supporting curtains, are commonly called curtain poles.

The design relates to the configuration of the pole in cross-section, said configuration being the same throughout the entire length of the pole.

The characteristic of the design is that the pole is, in general, octagonal in crosssection, all the faces being longitudinally channeled or fnrrowed with rectangular grooves, the intervals between which are substantially equal to the width of the grooves, so that the entire surface of all of the eight faces is thus chauneled or made up of alternating rectangular ribs and rectangular inter-spaces. The customary cord groeve c, wherever located, slightly mntilates but does not alter the design.

I claim* The design fora curtain pole herein shown and described.

In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand, at Chicago, Illinois, this 27th day of December, 1892.

LESLIE R. HARSHA.
