Abstract

The support ring proposed consists of two rings (10, 12) held a constant distance apart by three connecting struts (14) and is characterized by the fact that the upper ring has a slightly smaller diameter than the lower ring and, represented as rolled out, the rings form three waves, the connecting struts being located near the crests of the waves.

Description

Stützring zum Stützen einer biologischen Aortenklappenprothese Support ring for supporting a biological aortic valve prosthesis
The invention relates to a support ring for supporting an aortic valve prosthesis, consisting of two rings running at a constant distance from one another and three struts connecting the rings to one another.
Such a support ring is shown in DE 36 08 435 C2, in which the two rings have the same diameter and the two rings each run in one plane.
The previously known support ring does not take sufficient account of the anatomical conditions.
The invention is based on the object of developing the known support ring in such a way that the anatomical conditions are better taken into account.
According to the invention, this object is achieved in that the upper ring has a slightly smaller diameter than the lower ring and the rings form three shafts in a developed view, the struts connecting the rings to one another in the region of the wave crests.
The diameter of the upper ring is preferably 1.5 to 2.5 mm less than that of the lower ring, the height of the wave crests and the depth of the wave troughs is preferably between 2 and 6 mm.
The struts should be wider than the rings.
Titanium is particularly suitable as the material. In order to avoid welded connections or the like, the support ring should be made from one piece.
The invention is explained below with reference to a drawing. The only figure shows the support ring in a perspective view.
The support ring consists of two rings 10, 12, each of which runs in a wave shape while maintaining their parallelism. The height of the wave crests and the depth of the wave valleys are each 2 to 6 mm, so that the plane of the vertices of the lower ring 12 and the plane of the vertices of the upper ring 10 are at a distance of 2 to 12 mm from one another to have.
The diameter of the upper ring 10 is 1.5 to 2.5 mm smaller than that of the lower ring.
In the - preferred - regular arrangement of the struts, they have an angular distance of 120 ° from one another.
For implantation, a biological heart valve preparation is sewn into the support ring as described in DE 39 10 971 Cl and then introduced into the patient's aorta with the support ring.
