Abstract

Printing apparatus and method particularly suited to provide a hardcopy of an image produced by medical imaging equipment or the like. The apparatus utilizes a fast serial processing method in which portions of coarse image data are rapidly processed and printed in real time to reduce overall memory requirements and device complexity while minimizing printing speed.
