Abstract

Für die Herstellung eines im wesentlichen biologisch abbaubaren Polymerschaumes wird thermoplastische oder destrukturierte Stärke oder eine Polymermischung von thermoplastischer oder destrukturierter Stärke mit mindestens einem biologisch abbaubaren hydrophoben Polymer verwendet. Zusätzlich wird das Material mit einem biologisch abbaubaren faserartigen oder kapselartigen Material gemischt, welches die Fähigkeit besitzt, Wasser kapillaraktiv einzubinden, wobei dieses Material vor dem Abmischen mit dem Polymeren wenigstens teilweise mit Wasser versetzt oder gesättigt ist. Die so erhaltene Polymer/Materialmischung wird unter Regelung von Druck und Temperatur derart verarbeitet, dass das im Material kapillar gebundene Wasser freigesetzt wird, um ein Aufschäumen des Polymers zu bewirken.
