Abstract

The invention relates to a device for facilitating the handling of a container for a liquid closable with a screw cap, preferably a so-called PET bottle, the device (1) comprises a substantially rotation-cylindrical shell part (2) and, integral with it, a handle (3). This forms an angle with the axis of rotation (4) on the shell part (2). At one end, the shell part (2) has a first portion (2a) corresponding with said screw cap and provided with an inner thread (2a1). This is so designed that the shell part can be screwed with a seal-tight connection on the neck of the container. At the other end, the shell part (2) has a second portion (2b) corresponding to said neck and provided with an outer thread (2b1). This is so designed that said screw cap can be screwed thereon with a seal-tight connection.

Description

Arranqement to facilitate the handling of a reservoir for a fluid.
The present invention relates to a device for facilitating the handling of a container for a liquid, closable with a screw cap, preferably a so-called PET bottle, (polythene bottle of about 2 litres capacity) .
PET bottles and similar containers are difficult to handle, especially when it is desired to serve a drink out of such a bottle into a glass or the like. In most cases, the bottle is held with both hands so as to avoid spillage.
The object of the present invention is to provide a device of the type first defined hereinabove which makes it possible to handle, for example, a PET bottle with one hand. This is achieved according to the invention in that the device comprises a substantially rotation-cylindrical shell part and, integral with it, a handle which forms an angle with the axis of rotation of the shell part, in that the shell part has, at one end, a first portion corresponding with said screw cap and provided with an inner thread, so designed that the shell part can be screwed with a seal-tight connection on the neck of the container, and, at the other end, a second portion corresponding to said neck and provided with an outer thread, so designed that said screw cap can be screwed thereon with a seal-tight connection.
According to a particular characteristic of the invention, it is possible to fix onto the body an end of a flexible strap, in the other end of which there is a loop which can be hooked in a recess in the handle. With this strap it will be possible to carry comfortably a container hanging from one' s shoulder. The combination of the device of the invention and the flexible strap can also be a help for facilitating the carrying of a drink dispenser.
According to another particular characteristic of the invention the first portion of the shell part is constructed with an inner
SUBSTITUTESHEET conical cavity matching the screw cap. By means of causing the walls of the conical cavity to engage the screw cap it will be possible, with the device of the invention, to unscrew it with ease.
Hereinbelow the invention will be described in greater detail with reference to the attached drawing, wherein Fig. 1 represents diagrammatically and partly in'section an embodiment of a device of the invention. Fig. 2 shows how the device according to the invention can be combined with a flexible strap to facilitate the handling of a drink dispenser.
In the drawing, 1 denotes generally a device according to the invention which comprises a substantially rotation-symmetrical shell part 2 and, integral with it, a handle 3 which forms an angle with the central axis 4 of the shell part 1. In the embodiment shown in the drawing the handle consists of a first handle part 3a connected with the shell part directed essentially at a right-angle from the shell part 2 and which merges into a second handle part 3b which forms an angle of about 15°-20° with the central axis 4. The handle part 3b has a recess 3bl the function of which will be explained hereinbelow in connection with Fig. 2 has at one end, more precisely the end that faces the handle 3, a first portion 2a provided with an inner thread 2al, and at the' other end a second portion 2b provided with an outer thread 2bl . The first portion 2a is so formed that the shell part 2 can be screwed tightly on the neck of the container. In corresponding manner the other portion 2b is so formed that the screw cap of the container can be screwed on it tightly. In this way there has been produced a container with a handle which permits a comfortable handling as well as a simple emptying of the container.
As stated in the introduction, the first portion 2a of the shell part 2 has an inner conical cavity or opening 2a2 the shape of which corresponds to the external outline of the screw cap, and the wall of which is designed to be brought into engagement with a screw cap screwed on a bottle or other container so as thereby to facilitate its unscrewing. The handle 3 helps to secure a good grip and, in addition, acts as a lever. The device of the invention thus serves also as an aid for the handicapped.
In Fig. 2, at the shell part 2, by means of a first upper portion 2b and with a loop 5a secured by a screw cap 7, there is fixed one end of a flexible strap 5, 'the other end of which is secured by means of a loop 5b in the recess 3bl . The strap 5 is passed in suitable manner through the openings into a drink dispenser, and in this way there is obtained an aid to comfortable transport. As was first stated at the outset, the combination of the device of the invention and of the strap 5 may be used for transporting a container hanging from the shoulder or carried on one's back.
