Abstract

In a display with an LCD-screen (2) and a light box (1) arranged behind the LCD-screen (2), several luminescent diodes (5-7) with the primary colours are arranged in the light box (1). Nachteilig bei der bekannten Anzeigevorrichtung ist, daß der Farbfilter einen hohen Anteil des von den Lichtquellen abgestrahlten Lichts absorbiert. Durch die Trägheit des menschlichen Auges erscheint das Bild für einen Betrachter der Anzeigevorrichtung farbig. Dadurch, daß kein Farbfilter zur farbigen Durchleuchtung des LCD-Bildschirms benötigt wird, gelangt ein besonders großer Anteil des von den Lichtquellen erzeugten Lichts zu dem Betrachter. Bei gleicher vorgesehener Helligkeit der Anzeigevorrichtung können damit im Vergleich zum Stand der Technik weniger oder schwächere Lichtquellen eingesetzt werden. Die An- Zeigevorrichtung heizt sich deshalb weniger stark auf. Anzeigevorrichtung zur Anzeige von farbigen Bildern mit einem LCD-Bildschirm, welcher mehrere in ihrem Transmissionsvermögen schaltbare, einzelnen Bildpunkten zugeordnete Segmente aufweist, mit einem hinter dem LCD- Bildschirm angeordneten, zur Durchleuchtung des LCD- Bildschirms mittels mehrerer Lichtquellen ausgebildeten Lichtkasten und mit einer Ansteuereinheit zum Ansteuern der Segmente und der Lichtquellen, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß für jede Grundfarbe zumindest eine Lichtquelle (Leuchtdiode 5 - 7) vorgesehen ist und daß die Ansteuereinheit (3) zum Zusammensetzen des farbigen Bildes aus den Grundfarben durch ein aufeinanderfolgendes Ansteuern der die einzelnen Grundfarben erzeugenden Lichtquellen (Leuchtdiode 5 - 7) zeitgleich mit den der jeweiligen Grundfarbe zugeordneten Segmenten (4) ausgebildet ist.1.
