Vorrichtung zum Abdichten eines von einem Fluid durchströmbaren Hohlgefäßes ( 1 2), in das Abdichtmittel ( 1 6) zur Behinderung des Fluiddurchflusses und Betätigungsmittel (18) für diese Abdichtmittel einbringbar sind, die durch diese Betätigungsmittel zwischen einer Betriebsstellung, in der sie den Fluiddurchfluß im Hohlgefäß (12) behindern, und einer den Fluiddurchfluß gestattenden Ruhestellung verstellbar sind, wobei die Dichtmittel so beschaffen sind, daß ihr Volumen vergrößert werden kann , und wobei das Fluid mit einer oder ohne eine Festkörperbeimengung zugeführt wird, dadurch gekennzeichnet, daß die Abdichtmittel (16) in einem rohrartigen und in das Hohlgefäß (12) einbringbaren Transportkörper (14) untergebracht sind, aus dem die Abdichtmittel (16) mittels der Betätigungsmittel (18) freisetzbar sind, und daß Abdichtmittel (16) derart beschaffen sind, daß sie bei Ihrer Freisetzung selbst ihre Volumenvergrößerung vornehmen.1 .
