Abstract

A cable tie (31) for securing a connector (19) to a cable of a harness (11), the connector (19) having a pair of rails (21) which together form a track (23) therebetween. The cable tie (31) comprises and elongated flexible strap (33) having a first end (39) and a second end (41). A locking head (35) is integrally formed on the first end (39) of the strap (33) and is adapted to cooperate with the strap (33) to form a loop around the cable (15). The cable tie (31) further comprises a fastener (37) coupled to the strap (33) which is sized and shaped to slide into the track (23) formed in the connector (19). In one embodiment, the fastener (37) of the cable tie (31) is integrally formed on the strap (33). In another embodiment, the fastener (37) of the cable tie (31) and the strap (33) are two separate pieces, thereby enabling the fastener (37) to slide along the strap (33).
