Abstract

The present invention relates to a method for determining user codes and passwords in information systems for users calling via a digital telephone network (10). According to the invention, the user sends a smart message of a predetermined format containing user identification information and password information to a predetermined service number, the telephone network identifies the message sender by his A number, and based thereon, assigns the user a user name and password according to the received smart message.
