Abstract

A system, method and article of manufacture are provided for managing the resources of a system. A communications driver is utilized to allow at least two field programmable gate arrays to send messages to each other. Each message between the field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) includes an identification code, where a first portion of the identification code identifies a request for a resource. The identification code is processed. A macro procedure is called based on the type of message and the identification of the request for the resource. The macro procedure receives and processes the message.
