Abstract

A gaming apparatus comprising at least one playing console (4), the or each console (4) comprising a touch-sensitive display screen (8) for displaying a simulated race and via which a player may place at least one bet upon the outcome of the race. The apparatus thus provides a high level of excitement in play, can require considerable skill and knowledge on the part of the player in deciding upon his bet, and can involve a considerable degree of player interaction.
