Description

LEARNING BOARD
Technical Field
The present invention relates to a learning board which can display alphanumerical characters or figures, and more particularly, to a learning board which can offer a user better conveniences by allowing the user to simply write on and erase from a writing surface equipped with magnetic beads using magnetic writing tools.
Background Art
Alphanumerical characters or figures are generally written or drawn on blank paper using pencils, pens or crayons. According to this method, once writing or drawing is done using writing/drawing tools such as pens or crayons except for pencils, erasing is quite difficult. In particular, in order for pre-school children to learn alphanumerical characters, a large amount of paper is required.
Thus, in order to allow children to write or draw alphanumerical characters or figures, the top surface of a writing surface is made of a transparent synthetic resin and the bottom surface thereof is made of an adhesive material, which adheres to the writing surface when the characters or figures are written or drawn on the writing surface using pencil, pens or other sharp tools, so that the characters or figures are expressed on the writing surface. A separation panel is provided between the adhesive material and the writing surface. As the separation panel moves left and right, the adhesive material is away from the writing surface. Accordingly, the writing surface becomes blank so that children can start writing or drawing afresh.
In the above-described conventional writing surface, however, adhesiveness of the adhesive material is weakened over time so that characters or figures cannot be expressed properly because of weak adhesion between the adhesive material and the writing surface. Also, since the writing surface is configured such that the characters or figures expressed on the writing surface are erased by the separation panel of the writing surface moving left and right, the adhesive material may gather together on the writing surface by the separation panel, which results in ununiform characters or figures. Disclosure of the Invention
In view of the foregoing disadvantages inherent in the prior art, it is an object of the present invention to provide a learning board capable of using for a long time and teaching children with more convenience such that writing/drawing or erasing is done on a writing surface equipped with magnetic beads using magnetic writing or drawing tools.
To accomplish the above object of the present invention, there is provided a learning board including a writing surface formed on the top surface of a housing and made of transparent synthetic resin to allow for writing, a plurality of magnetic beads provided on the reverse side of the writing surface and supported by a separation panel, a magnetized bar plate installed under the lower portion of the magnetic beads and capable of moving the magnetic beads while moving left and right, and a writing tool in contact with the writing surface and configured to varying the arrangement of the magnetic beads using the magnetism of the tip of the writing tool. The surface of each of the magnetic beads is colored white or black according to whether the polarity of the surface of each magnetic bead is positive or negative, so that the writing tool and the bar plate are configured to have polarities opposite to those of the black portions of the magnetic beads.
In other words, in the case where writing is done using the writing tool, the black portions of the magnetic beads having a polarity opposite to that of the writing tool are positioned beneath the writing surface, so that characters or figures are expressed on the writing surface along the moving track of the writing tool. Also, when the bar plate is moved, the black portions of the magnetic beads having a polarity opposite to that of the bar plate are upside down, so that the characters or figures expressed on the writing surface are erased.
Brief Description of the Drawings
The above objects and advantages of the present invention will become more apparent by describing in detail preferred embodiments thereof with reference to the attached drawings in which: FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a learning board according to the present invention; FIG. 2 is a diagram showing the internal structure of the learning board according to the present invention; and
FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of essential parts of the learning board according to the present invention, illustrating the use state of the learning board.
Best Mode for Carrying out the Invention
The present invention will now be described in detail with reference to the accompanying drawings.
FIG. 1 is a perspective view of a learning board according to the present invention, FIG. 2 is a diagram showing the internal structure of the learning board according to the present invention, and FIG. 3 is an enlarged view of essential parts of the learning board according to the present invention, illustrating the use state of the learning board.
Referring thereto, the learning board capable of indicating alphanumerical characters or figures includes a writing surface 2 formed on the top surface of a housing 1 and made of transparent synthetic resin to allow for writing, a plurality of magnetic beads 3 provided on the reverse side of the writing surface 2 and supported by a separation panel 6, a magnetized bar plate 5 installed under the lower portion of the magnetic beads 3 and capable of moving the magnetic beads 3 while moving left and right, and a writing tool 4 in contact with the writing surface 2 and configured to varying the arrangement of the magnetic beads 3 using the magnetism of the tip of the writing tool 4.
Here, the magnetic beads 3 have different colors according to magnetic pole, that is, positive (+) or negative (-) pole, and are installed between the writing surface 2 and the separation panel 6. Also, the magnetic beads 3 are not overlapped with one another but are arranged to be coplanar with one another.
The writing tool 4 for writing on the writing surface 2 is also magnetized. The magnetism of the writing tool 4 is selected according to colors of the magnetic beads 3. That is to say, if a black portion of each of the magnetic beads 3 is set to a positive (+) pole, the magnetism of the writing tool 4 is a negative (-) pole. When the writing tool 4 passes by on the writing surface 2, the black portions of the magnetic beads 3 are positioned beneath the writing surface 2, so that characters or figures are displayed on the writing surface 2 along the moving track of the writing tool 4.
Also, the magnetism of the bar plate 5 provided under the magnetic beads 3 is determined by the polarities of the magnetic beads 3. That is to say, in the same manner as in the writing tool 4, the bar plate 5 are configured to have polarities opposite to those of the black portions of the magnetic beads 3. When the bar plate 5 is allowed to pass by under the magnetic beads 3 while getting closer to portions where the magnetic beads 3 are placed, the black portion of the magnetic beads 3 is upside down by the bar plate 5, thereby expressing the writing surface 2 only white. The magnetic beads 3 positioned along the moving track of the writing tool 4 cause a positional change in such a manner as described above. The polarity of the writing tool 4 is opposite to the polarity of the black portion of the magnetic beads 3, pulling each other, and is the same as the polarity of the white portion thereof, pushing each other, so that a positional change of the magnetic beads 3 is caused. Accordingly, characters and figures are expressed along the moving track of the writing tool 4 on the transparent writing surface 2.
In order to erase the characters or figures expressed on the writing surface 2, the bar plate 5 provided under the magnetic beads 3 is moved left and right. That is to say, the polarity of the top plane of the bar plate 5 is opposite to the polarity of the magnetic beads 3 expressed black, so that the bar plate 5 pulls the black portions of the magnetic beads 5. Thus, the writing surface 2 is expressed with only white portions of the magnetic beads 3 according to a positional change of the magnetic beads 3.
Industrial Applicability
As described above, in the learning board according to the present invention, characters or figures are simply written or drawn on a writing surface provided with magnetic beads using a magnetic writing tool and erased therefrom. Therefore, the learning board can be used with convenience for a long period of time. In particular, the learning board according to the present invention can be more advantageously used in teaching children, enhancing learning effects.
