Abstract

The invention concerns a device providing, by means of one single miniaturised (pocket-size) apparatus, knowledge concerning the whole set of currencies used in the world, hence enabling detection of counterfeit or forgery using a microprocessor or an micro-programmed module integrated in the housing of the apparatus. The device is provided with a colorimeter enabling it to identify the dominant colour of the banknote to be controlled and to automatically identify the denomination to be controlled in the currency concerned.
